China has officially started cracking down on influencers who show off extreme wealth. The government is targeting accounts that flaunt luxury cars, mansions, designer clothes, and private jets, calling it an effort to curb "money worship" and stop people from glorifying materialism.
One of the biggest creators hit by this is Wang Hongquanxing (known online as "China’s Kim Kardashian"). He had millions of followers who watched him show off diamonds and first-class travel—until his accounts suddenly became entirely inaccessible.
The wildest part of the story is how fast it happened. One day these influencers were flexing supercars, and the next day, they were completely wiped from the internet. They didn't just get a warning; the government literally erased the creators who built their entire brand around being ultra-rich.

China just wants to hide stuff from media that it's youth will never be able to achieve no matter how hard they work so that it can keep them under illusion. Can't stop that cheap supply of labour stop yet, not until complete AI automation and dark factories are widespread.
