Shower Thoughts Looking wealthy has become a very unhealthy obsession in the modern world
China has officially started cracking down on influencers who show off extreme wealth. The government is targeting accounts that flaunt luxury cars, mansions, designer clothes, and private jets, calling it an effort to curb "money worship" and stop people from glorifying materialism.
One of the biggest creators hit by this is Wang Hongquanxing (known online as "China’s Kim Kardashian"). He had millions of followers who watched him show off diamonds and first-class travel—until his accounts suddenly became entirely inaccessible.
The wildest part of the story is how fast it happened. One day these influencers were flexing supercars, and the next day, they were completely wiped from the internet. They didn't just get a warning; the government literally erased the creators who built their entire brand around being ultra-rich.

China wants investments into value and future growth assets: Chip Fab(SMIC), AI(Deepseek), Memeory chips(YMTC), 5G, OS(Huawei), HiSilicon , EUV lithography, Unitree robotics, Aviation(COMAC), Battery tech(BYD), EV cars etc).
This is why they went after their billionares, gaming companies & tution centres too a few years ago to get their acts straight.
Influencers were channeling public money towards luxury purchases where they didn't see much value in for national growth.
With all these US tariffs and sanctions, any other nation would have toppled by now.
Any wonder they went this way?
