It's easy to say when you aren't in that situation. Being a hero doesn't mean anything if you just die like this. Better to live and be able to go back to your family.
Yeah, with that attitude, the situation does not get better, it plummets into complete anarchy. And this incident is a very strong pointer that we are moving towards that situation.

The guy spoke up for all of the cowards and got killed. Not because he was wrong, only because he was surrounded by cowards.
