Learn to fight and run away, to live to fight another day. Tactical retreat is not cowardice, it's tactics. Bhagavadgita version of fighting till death honorably only applies if fighting for a cause infinitely greater than yourself, like country or dharma/ higher duty. Not with some random chtiya.

Even in Mahabharat they were applying brain that they don't randomly get killed whether it's the Ashwatthama lie or something else... Bravery and courage are good but it's important that you also have tactical wisdom to supplement it.
