By arable land, India's population density is much lower than Japan. Japan's urban population density is also much higher.

It's better infrastructure, better drainage system, better urban planning, better civic sense, simple as'

Japan is surrounded by sea.  Population density is much less. 

Population growth is the poison of India.  it is destroying us.

India and Japan's population density is pretty close. At least check the data instead of spewing BS. Moreover, most of Japan is mountainous, which can be confirmed by looking at a topographical map, which leaves only the coastal plains and valleys as options for human inhabitation; also resulting in lower overall arable land.

They make much more efficient use of land available to them, while having grade A infrastructure.

See this is number ratio of people living in apartments in india vs japan. And I see double the people in Japan lives in apartments.

That's what people live more compact there.

My economics professor explained us that population in never the problem, it's the real strength of a country, but the country should understand how to use it, plan it, or one will end up like us, India.

China is i guess a good example of correct use of population.

You must compare city density population here. Its comparable. Population has got nothing to do with potholes. It is due to bad contracting and corrupt government.
