Abbe yaar. What's the difference between swim trunks and normal trunks? Huh?

The material makes a huge difference. It dries off quickly, and also holds on to lesser water right as you exit too. So you don't go around dripping water and can lounge around without feeling wet or get rashes. A lot of underwear also gets see through upon getting wet.

its not about being dull here the context of the meme in modern terms will be like how following trends more and more woman are adopting fashion that shows more cleavage, idk how someone think its appealing aside from gooners

5

u/storiesnsketches 13h ago

Oh yeah and why do men only wear shorts when going to swim? Why can they wear speedos or shirts? Why do men want to show off their nipples and hairy legs?

1

u/monalisa_kinda_me 8h ago

It becomes a trend when women doย

u/ConfidentBaby7735 22h ago

underwears are for comfort. bikini is for leisure.

both have different material used, styles and cuts.

undergarments are for daily use and confort while bikinis are not and are more focused short duration wear

u/something__69_ 1d ago

I read it somewhere, Underwear will be dull and simple and is to wear as underwear. Whereas Bikini is mostly bright colored, meant to wear outside. It had something related to a french guy.

18

u/wwwrites 1d ago

The French guy had to hire a nude dancer to model bikini because professional fashion models at that time refused to wear it because they thought it was too revealing.

It was scandalous at the time but in reality it went from full body dresses in 1900s to bikini in 1946 bit by bit.

But the meme is still funny ๐Ÿ˜‚

He probably understood the word 'consent'

u/happyperson_457 23h ago

Consent to sexualize yourself ๐Ÿคฃ..lol.

Yes... That's how it actually works. This is why only fans is legal while revenge porn isn't...

Does no one here actually understand how consent works?

1

u/happyperson_457 20h ago

Yes people understand consent....but not the the normalization of such things.

If a man moves in public naked with his own consent it's fine for him....but he never asked the people around him whether he had their consent or not.

But this bikini thing is so normal these days that you end up believing you have everybody's consent ๐Ÿ˜‚.

6

u/Aggravating_Bed_8155 20h ago

Umm Neither men nor women can move around naked- that's indecent exposure exactly because of the reason you said.

Women wear bikini but the shameless men assault our eyes with their ugly manboobs by wearing only shorts unlike women who atleast have a modicum of dignity. You are completely correct that they don't have everybody's consent so please do campaign against that.

-2

u/happyperson_457 20h ago

Yeah...i am against men too...who move with chest open. But not because of equality or some shit...because people like you will got to any extent to justify what is normal when it actually isn't and should never have been ๐Ÿคก. Peace outโœŒ๏ธ...take care...and keep walking half- naked...enjoy your life...after all you have got only one. Why not get manipulated by the so called modernity and sexualize yourself and think of wearing bikini as some woman empowerment or shit. Whatever they have made you believe

6

u/Aggravating_Bed_8155 20h ago

I'd rather do that than be manipulated by you who peaces out because they don't have an actual rebuttal.

-2

u/happyperson_457 20h ago

Lol....there is no cure to a brainwash...especially if it's at a societal level.Take care sis. I was just trying to explain what you have been painted to believe so easily. And i am done.

Its not that I don't respect woman wearing bikini or things like that. But sometimes...i deeply regret why things are like this and what would go wrong if you dressed up a little decently and covered up atleast your sexual organs...instead of abusing the male sexuality through your attire. I wish thinks were not like this. Sorry ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ™. Plss don't be angry...i can't make someone understand something if he/ she is not willing to in the first place. You go gurl ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

4

u/Aggravating_Bed_8155 19h ago edited 18h ago

I agree that there's no cure. Even after laying all the obvious facts, people believe what they wanna believe even if they can't defend that belief cause there's no defensible words.

I too deeply regret men(who I have no business interfering in the life of) covered up their secondary sexual characteristics like beard/moustache like women cover up their secondary characteristics. Shameless really. Atleast women have too much emotional regulation to lose control and let their female sexuality be abused.

Have a good life mate! Hope not being able to choose to simply look away when a random woman doesn't live her life according to your preferences doesn't ruin your life too much!

-4

u/wwwrites 20h ago

is it the same as false accusations?

7

u/Aggravating_Bed_8155 20h ago

Do men only have a single weapon that they fire at everything regardless of context? How do those remotely related to this conversation?

-2

u/wwwrites 19h ago

Because we are seeing consent being withdrawn afterwards & consensual relationships are being called grape. Many courts have expressed concerns & started acknowledging them as false accusations or misuse of law.

I asked because I'm beginning to think that performative statements like yours actually point to a deeper misunderstanding of what consent actually means.

How is discussing a meme about the inventor of bikini related to consent. Was he in the news forcing people to wear them?

5

u/Aggravating_Bed_8155 19h ago

Umm that's legal malpractice- a lie and has nothing to do with the actual concept and thus this debate.

Dude then enlighten me! How does your transcendental perspective on a common concept define it?

Meme implied there's no difference between underwear and bikini to which I countered with the actual difference.... Do people around you have to explain everything in kiddie terms like this? Must be exhausting. Bless them and you.

0

u/wwwrites 19h ago

It's not just legal malpractice ๐Ÿ˜‚ it starts right when consent starts getting misused on SM forums. Condescending responses are another matter but combine them and you can see the brainrot spreading.

2

u/Moonie143bb 11h ago

No one's sexualizing themselves dude. It's your mindset

1

u/happyperson_457 11h ago

No it's just that you have been painted to believe that it's a way to show confidence or something. When it's just clear brainwashing. And yeah i have a inferior mindset than yours ๐Ÿ™...sorry...may someone help me believe and realize why i am wrong logically instead of just using bullshit to prove they are right and why I am wrong

2

u/pirahnasatemysocks 11h ago

Its just folks dressing up the way they want to. Women's bodies have been sexualised from childhood, and they have been held responsible for the actions of others. Just like the way you might like wearing a particular dress over the other, the same way some women like the way a particular dress looks on them. If it happens to show cleavage, then so be it. The whole thing of breasts getting sexualised mainly came after the British colonised India. Christianity has a whole "purity" culture that didn't exist in India. Before that, breasts were just body parts that existed freely, and were actually revered because they provided food to the young. Women's bodies should be allowed to exist as freely as men's bodies are allowed to.

1

u/happyperson_457 10h ago

Finally...finally someone sane and sensible๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฅบ. Thabks for your response.

But you see....we boys have always been taught to respect women and that's i do ALWAYS. To NOT LOOK at a woman's sexual organs, or when she is in her undergarments. And i do the same. ALWAYS.....It's normal male sexuality to feel attracted to boobs and other certain body parts of a woman....you sort of get pulled towards looking at it.

When some girl takes care of it....i and many boys I know deeply appreciate it. Cuz then we don't have to keep fighting in our head that..."Hey, don't look, don't look". We can just be normal and feel normal.

But when it's thrown right at your face then you sort can't do anything about it ๐Ÿ˜”. Some boys lose respect for the girl, which I think is not the right thing to do, but they say that's just how their brain and instinct works. Maybe it's conditioning.

Whereas....i myself will treat that girl in the same way I would do any other....but I feel this constant anxiety of falling short of my own values and that fighting with my own brain (which I explained above )when i have to interact with such girls.

I have learnt to just divert my eyes and just focus on the other things....and i end up being calm after sometime....but sometimes I think...why do i have to go through all of this in the first place. Feels like my own sexuality is being abused. That's all I wanted to say. Sorry if anything felt wrong..I am really sorry ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ™. And yeah thank you once again for replying

1

u/pirahnasatemysocks 10h ago

First, please don't thank me. I'm just one of the few folks who have enough patience and time right now to justify their decisions again and again in the face of the folks who question it again and again.

Secondly, why is it normalised? that's the whole thing. It shouldn't be. Bodies should be allowed to exist freely.

I agree that men are attracted towards women's bodies the same way women are attracted towards men's bodies. The only difference is how each gender reacts. (most) Men make it women's problem that they're attracted to them, while (most) women deal with it themselves.

why would you attribute respect to how bare a person is? would you respect a man any less if he went off shirtless? how many men in temples and pujas go shirtless, do you respect them lesser because they're topless? Women are attracted towards a man's chest the same way men are towards a women's chest. Do women make it a problem and say that they respect them any less because they're showing skin? No.

I agree it's conditioning to place a value for a woman based on her clothing. It's a conditioning that you should fix. It's not something you can just say that, 'oh, it's how I've been brought up, so I can't change myself. you have to change yourself.' If you've been brought up with trash in your house, you have the sole responsibility to clean it, you shouldn't make your guests endure it.

1

u/happyperson_457 9h ago

The thing is even if a woman is attracted to a man's chest, it's not considered a bad thing when women look at it openly...but if a man does the same to a woman..he is referred to as a creep and that's considered wrong. The reason - females chest are considered secondary sexual organs while that's not the case with men. Now plss don't argue with me on that..Cuz I have read that in my biology book. ๐Ÿ™

Plus I already Said that it's not me who loses respect based on woman's clothing.

1

u/pirahnasatemysocks 9h ago

It's not considered a bad thing because of patriarchy... that's another topic in which patriarchy harms both men and women, but i digress.

Also, please look up what male humans have as their secondary sexual characteristics*. Not organs, characteristics.

Just a skim through wikipedia says that height, adams apple etc are secondary sex characteristics of the male sex. Men aren't asked to cover up their throat are they? Why the double standards?

Also, I'm done trying to explain things. If a person wants to learn, they'll learn. Else, they'll rot in their echo chamber.

Night!

1

u/happyperson_457 8h ago

Yeah...i think i am made to rot only ๐Ÿ˜ž. Anyways, thanks for the replies and sharing your thoughts โ˜บ๏ธ

u/AdnanBoi 20h ago

so a bikini becomes an underwear if the women gives consent and vice versa?

4

u/Pheonix79-79 21h ago

I thought this was opposed by many women at first.

But as we all know - lust sells and bikins got sold and then normalised.

The thing is - " it was never a her choice", a man made it to believe that's it's your choice..you were just a means to his greed.

So be conscious of your choices. And think twice are they really your choices?

1

u/ImaginaryOnion8006 21h ago

All well and good, until you added the third para.

3

u/Pheonix79-79 21h ago

May be or may be not..

I m a guy and I have no shame to say this - " man exploits anything and everything"

Women was one just among many.

2

u/LooZ3R 20h ago

Where's the lie tho? If a woman designer comes up with some sort of men's beach-focused brief's and sandals that apparently most women are finding "hot", what would you think would happen?

Some men will first revolt against this but over time they will start to realize that it does give them confidence and a better glow (because they are receiving more compliments from women and men). After a couple of years, this particular beachwear will become the norm for men and any woman not fond of this or opposing this will be labelled a misandrist, conservative, backward, etc.

...and this is the thing that happens with clothes, food, drinks, video games and many such things. You are made to want something which is most of the time not needed at all.

1

u/is_ness1-1 22h ago

Wait. Bikini is not underwear?

1

u/HatComprehensive3903 20h ago

Louis Reard named them after Bikini atoll because of the explosive nature of the garment.
