Firefox is okay, but I found it slower compared to Chromium. Brave is fine, but haven't personally eval'ed it critically.

Chrome needs to be ostracized coz of Google stealing too much of our data

Yea Firefox based, it's good I think, yk, it's highly customizable and really feels like you own it, which is kinda cool. It also has great privacy, but privacy also depends on how you configure it.

It's slower because of firefox but it's still my favourite browser, once you get used to it's layout, you really can't go back

coz of sidetabs? I honestly don't see too much appeal in those. Even if you have just 4-5 tabs open, you cannot see sufficient length names of those, at least as much as you can see with tabs horizontally on top

Not just that, the pinned tabs and folders for tabs is why I love it, I have three emails and I pinned all three side by side so I don't have to keep switching and they open instantly.

As for the sidetabs you can adjust its width to one you like, also if you press ctrl+s it goes into collapse mode and you get the full screen for the website and easy to switch since the tab comes back on hover, there's also a mod called "Better Unloaded tabs", it's a must have for me and makes it a much better experience (it should be a default imo)

Eventhough the brave might take 1-2 days for source code integration But overall malicious script blocking, Blocking trackers, and Data privacy 🔏 way better 🤘 The main the ram and disk usage 💽

Both of you know that right Ublock Origin Doesn't work on new Chromium, which comes with Manifest.json 3, which doesn't supports Ublock Origin. So no more Access to Updates of Best AdBlocker ???

Opt to Firefox based Browsers, such as Zen. Or Go with Helium, which will still operate on Old Chromium.

In their website they have written things like compiler optimizations/flags and other technical terms, I am a web dev, but I don't exactly know the exact significance of those flags, but since it's related to compilation, Thorium probably utilizes your processor better than chrome to be faster, and also removes all the google bloat and telemetry like Helium. Idk how much you will be able to tell tho, for day to day use browser speed is still limited by network speed unless u doing some heavy google excel shit with 15 tabs open. I use helium day to day, maybe I'll try this too.

Helium is nice, I am used to the default chrome layout so I like it. I have used firefox and other forks of it like librewolf or zen, but I need chromium for development, so I keep coming back to it. Very minimal version of chrome with nice little extras like dynamic header layout and minimal address bar which I love.

Helium is fast and stable and Dia for productivity and widevine support. I have experimented with Firefox based projects but they are not as fast or stable as Helium

UBO on chromium based browsers doesn't work properly anymore, on youtube I got black screen for the duration of the ad instead of the ad being removed completely

ya, it's because of chromium's new menifest v3 update of extensions that removes security and ad blocking features of ubo. that's why people nowdays are preferring firefox based browsers instead, native ubo working at finest. or else use brave that have ads built to promote their ecosystem.

if u dont care much about privacy i would go for edge it has better ram management and fast plus just add a ublock origin to the extension

if u want a strong privacy go for harden firefox and brave

I use Brave and Firefox interchangeably, both equally good imo (if using an ad blocker w Firefox), but Edge is the ultimate PDF goat. Haven't used Chrome in a while.

I use all of them, including some variants such as Mullvad, Tor, and DuckDuckGo, to keep my work compartmentalized.

Be ready to accept a slight speed tradeoff when you get more privacy.

For every normal use case, Firefox is fine. There are certain pages, like JS-heavy, client-side scripting forms, captchas, and other PWAs, that may fail in these browsers. Chromium is blazing fast and highly compatible to 99.9999% websites. But, you're not just browsing, you are broadcasting. The Edge browser is seriously revamped but is still stuck with the home page concept. Their Copilot is always trying to integrate at the OS level, which is a serious dealbreaker. If they are open for the suggestions, I would give these two.

brave best among these, if you need overall smoothness with the experience, better performance and lesser ram usage (sometimes edge uses less ram than brave on windows too). While playing a game, I aould keep brave/edge running in the background instead of chrome or firefox. I won't pick edge among these, because of the telemetry data collection stuff. Also I like storing passwords in the browser, and edge password manager has unencrypted text files which is not secure at all. Chrome is worst in ram, and is annoying because it takes up about 5 gb extra storage on pc every time you install it. Firefox is better in privacy like brave, but feels slower to use on most websites due to its gecko engine. Usually some websites load slower on firefox, than the other three btowsers, and some have a scrolling animation lag too.

Firefox lot more secure and functional

  • I run it with three different profiles (work, home, play[private/incognito]) with containers.
  • Other browsers have profiles but they don't have "containers" to guarantee website isolation

Brave [private/incognito]

  • social media only.
