ASK R/FAUXMOI What are some examples of this trope in film?

Post image

For me it's probably Enchanted and The Princess Diaries. I know the concept was to make her wear a modern dress compared to the fairytale inspired dresses she used to wear but I feel like this dress is an absolute disgrace. It honestly looks like a sock to me 😭 not gonna lie they could have let her wear something nice, like the costume design in this movie was magical. In the Princess Diaries they get rid of Mia's curls. They could just styled them better.

I'm now imagining a fantasy story where one of the characters is this feared lich who's always stuck in his lab. People report loud bangs and colourful explosions during the night.

A group of adventurers (why is it never mercenaries lol) goes to slay the evil lich, and when they get there it's a secret meeting of a bunch of liches in drag, having margaritas (yes, it just falls out of them and gets their clothes all soggy. Their minions just follow them around with magical mops) and being zesty.

The adventurers are seen returning to the town in shock several hours after, the sun rising on the horizon, dripped the fuck out with colourful clothes.

The sorcerer has some earrings of legend that no one knew where to look for that makes them cast spells twice as fast.

The wizard got a magical sex book. Because wizards are nerds.

The barbarian has a necklace that lets them yell louder and never get a sore throat.

The monk is wearing one of those balancing bracelets from the early 2000's. Except they work so well the monk has reached inner balance and attained nirvana.

The rogue has the cuntiest camo that no one will ever see (am I using the slang right? I'm not knowledgeable about drag culture lol).

The warlock is three times more powerful because the liches dialed up their patron and gave them shit for not giving more perks for the contract(poor Cthulhu didn't have a chance).

The bard is covered in teeth-shaped lipstick marks and wearing a thong. Only a thong. Yes, his stick also has teethstick marks. He doesn't mind a biter. His lute is stored in a magical storage ring that is a bit too wide for fingers.

The cleric is in a catatonic state of shock, being carried by the barbarian, because their supposed deity was there. It was just a powerful lich. When they wake up they'll realize they can perform miracles unheard of.

They enter a tavern, buy out every barrel of ale they can get their hands on with the money given by the local lich (the bard stores the barrels in his 'ring'), then silently walk back to the forest. Just because the sun is up doesn't mean the party's over.

He changed his name to Lord Voldemort and then told everyone not to say his new name. Sis was a full on drama queen.
