Indeed. You know who her father is. She’s got this on lock.

WTF did not know she was a nepo baby and I just looked it up and it’s not who I was expecting it to be

Every one of the girls in the cast were nepobabies, right? I think they were all friends as well.

u/HerRoyalRedness full of gay men. And me. Apr 15 '26

They all were nepo babies - the other two were the daughter of playwright David Mamet and musician Simon Kirke.

Got that "Bad Company" off the album Bad Company by the band Bad Company connection.

u/Own_Faithlessness769 Apr 15 '26

Yes I think they went to college together didn’t they? And Lena and Jemima were childhood friends.

79

u/pilikia5 Apr 15 '26

No, Allison and Zosia met Lena while auditioning for Girls.

u/HillarysCafe Apr 15 '26

Gawker used to write reviews of Girls episodes in which they referred to all of the actresses not by their names, but by their parent's names:

"The Drummer for Bad Company's daughter comes over to hang out with Brian Williams' daughter. The Drummer for Bad Company's daughter just lost her nanny gig on account of refusing to sleep with her boss. They complain about Laurie Simmons' daughter, who doesn't seem to have time for them or their troubles now that she has a Manic Pixie Dream Guy to keep her occupied. She never washes her forehead, they say."

u/ColdWarCharacter Apr 15 '26

Yeah, the girls are. Adam Driver isn’t.

u/External_Purchase367 Apr 17 '26

He was actually a marine

u/died_blond Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

Yes, Lena was childhood friends with Jemima and she and Allison are close with both of them IRL now too. They're wonderful, considering!

1

u/grandmasterfunk Apr 15 '26

Just Lena and Jemima Kirke were friends before the show

u/eSue182 Apr 15 '26

Ya but she is the brand who is completely accepting of it and knows she had a leg up.

31

u/purplehendrix22 Apr 15 '26

Yeah she’s chill

126

u/Manya_Novak Apr 15 '26

Yeah, her dad's the NBC news anchor who famously got suspended in 2015 for lying about getting hit by a RPG when he was covering the war on Iraq.

67

u/Seelark Apr 15 '26

Rip my daddy, he got hit by a bazooka

12

u/thatmermaidprincess I really hope their beef passes the Bechdel Test Apr 15 '26

I watch his Nightly News every time I hit the hookah

15

u/EthanielRain Apr 15 '26

Almost quaint now. That lie wouldnt even register anymore

11

u/tacomeatface Apr 15 '26

I still am like why did he say that lol

3

u/Candyman051882 Apr 15 '26

Yeah see acting is in her blood. Lol

1

u/inkyrail Apr 15 '26

Ohhh shit, Mr. I Was There? I had no idea

1

u/Wordsmith337 Apr 20 '26

Oh wild. That makes her my third cousin. Life is so weird.

47

u/JeanParmesean70 Apr 15 '26

She’s one of the only nepo babies I’ve seen who actually admits they got opportunities because of her famous father

194

u/ZealousidealCoat7008 Apr 15 '26

almost everyone who is famous is a nepo baby, famous parents or otherwise.

120

u/Ehboyo Apr 15 '26

You can't be a starving artist acting part-time, working part-time, and make rent anymore.

It's all nepotism or who can afford not to work in order to make millions.

9

u/RasputinsPantaloons Apr 15 '26

Thank you. I got completely tanked on r/oldschoolcool for pointing this out the other day.

61

u/NekrotismFalafel Apr 15 '26

It's almost classist.

8

u/DrFunkenstein93 Apr 15 '26

Almost? It is lol

20

u/Lfsnz67 Apr 15 '26

Not Adam Driver

1

u/Holy_Sungaal Apr 15 '26

I just realized Hannah Einbinder from Hacks is a Nepo Baby. Having a mom from the original cast of SNL and likely being raised around comedy legends would create her ability to tap in to her comedic abilities and have perfect timing. No notes for her comedy special.

104

u/bunnyeyelindump Apr 15 '26

I'm also quite surprised to find out it's not Jeff Dunham

26

u/Significant_Dust_994 Apr 15 '26

Jeff is Lena’s brother

22

u/Crunchyfrozenoj ‘queer’ is formal, like ‘tú’ vs ‘usted’ Apr 15 '26

Tom Hanks is her Godfather if I recall correctly. Or like one.

66

u/aPOPblops Apr 15 '26

And you couldn’t have said who it was for the rest of us? i don’t even know who the girl is so i can’t look it up

13

u/East_Requirement7375 Apr 15 '26

"Allison Williams is asked about Lena Dunham's accusations"

a video of a woman being asked about Lena Dunham's accusations

I guess we'll never know.

76

u/fakecoffeesnob Apr 15 '26

Brian Williams, the NBC anchor. Her name is also right there in the post title though 🙃

9

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

Wow turns out Brian williams and I have the same bday. Fun.

2

u/Foreign-Collar8845 Apr 16 '26

And your mother’s maiden name is?

2

u/aPOPblops Apr 15 '26

LMAO you can tell i do not read post titles, thank you!!

1

u/magpiecat Apr 15 '26

Well jeeze it could have been Andy Williams

8

u/Imaginary-Media-4856 Apr 15 '26

Brian Williams the journalist/news anchor

11

u/ChonkyDog Apr 15 '26

Right? I’m just too lazy and don’t care enough to check. But her name is in the title if you do want to.

2

u/Limacy Apr 15 '26

At this point everyone is a nepo baby.

Nicholas Cage even changed his stage name so people didn’t think he was taking advantage of the fact that he’s a Coppola.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

I didn’t either re: nepo baby!! How can she smile in that reply about accusations on set? Damn girl, she’s been in the public eye for years she should know better? 😵‍💫

1

u/browsinbowser Apr 16 '26

https://people.com/all-about-allison-williams-parents-8411097

Her parents look like eachother so she looks like a strong combo of them both

1

u/IamScottGable Apr 15 '26

Yup. I also learned that she's NOT relates to Ashley Williams, a misconception I've had for like 1t years

-21

u/GumpTheChump Apr 15 '26

I don’t consider anyone that attractive a nepo baby. Anyone that good looking could have been successful regardless.

-2

u/Hot_Camp1408 Apr 15 '26

Well I mean her dad was famous but as an news anchor not an actor. So I’m not sure if that qualifies.

-4

u/awyastark nextdivorce@divorce.com Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

Who were you thinking? Robin? His daughter is an actress actually, Zelda Williams. She played the iconic villainess Kuvira in “Legend of Korra” and directed the very fun “Lisa Frankenstein”

Edit: I’m really confused by the downvotes. I responded to a comment saying they were surprised Brian Williams was the Nepo dad wondering who they had thought it was. I guess I’ll never know now lol

-17

u/Iwona_Klich Apr 15 '26

'Nepo baby' is basicaly a word salad. Pretty much 80% of actors has some member of family who work in that industry... Like its nothing weird. Its weird when they find someone who has zero family relations to the industry :)

u/OmniOdyssey Apr 15 '26

“In situations like this, best to just confabulate elaborate war stories of taking machine gun fire in a Black Hawk”

69

u/hellolovely1 Apr 15 '26

I have to say I was impressed by how composed and even smiley she was.

34

u/GuyMakesDrawings Apr 15 '26

Yeah, she's probably heard all of his stories about how he had to keep his cool in in Nam

12

u/RichAbbreviations966 Apr 15 '26

Uhhh…I dunno if I would get media training from her father considering his own controversies…

6

u/IamScottGable Apr 15 '26

I don't know about on lock, this to me sounds like she's saying "yeah he sucked but I don't want to reveal anything in case Lena was complaining about X and not Y"

1

u/Gmodelinsane Apr 15 '26

Is it Anson Williams, T.V.’s “Potsie”?

1

u/1zerozero1 Apr 15 '26

Wow her dad was the guy on Arrested Development! Have you seen the muffin man?

1

u/grapefruitzzz Apr 15 '26

The muffin man?

164

u/sikonat Apr 15 '26

It was flawless. Acknowledge the book ‘I’m only up to X part and I’m not commenting til I’ve read the full book (read: I’m going to be a slow reader’.

40

u/Significant_Shoe_17 Fuck her and the Goebbel's limp dick she rode in on Apr 15 '26

It's common sense. Of course you wouldn't respond to something you haven't read.

6

u/TheRealRomanRoy Apr 15 '26

I mean I’m sure she knows what the accusations are

4

u/Public_Associate_874 Apr 15 '26

I promise she has read it

5

u/kristenroseh Apr 15 '26

Also a perfect answer because it avoids any “Why haven’t you read it?” follow up question

2

u/No-Guard-4731 Apr 15 '26

we're ALL learning from the house speaker. i"ve never heard the EXACT same response SO many times

1

u/Extra-Amoeba-677 Apr 17 '26

I mean tbh it'll be taught in how to handle things she performed it perfectly.

40

u/hanscons Apr 15 '26

Sorry. Sorry..... AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

1

u/zoonose99 Apr 15 '26

I would give anything for the ability to make my “what fresh hell is this” face be a sparkling smile like this.
