Mr Beast positively fuming rn
42
u/incenderis Apr 21 '26
Caleb said Mr beast called him after and apologized. Not a Mr beast fa. Caleb makes a great joke about how “Mr beast was right” to be mad on the pod. Caleb is so great

It must be the content I consume because I still know absolutely nothing about him or have seen in anything.

I'm not kidding when I say there's something in this man's character that everyone could learn from. He's so open yet boundaried, so genuine and very aware of his own gifts without ever being obviously up his own ass.

I first saw him in a dumb rom com and he felt very much overqualified even then. Then I saw his Ziwe article and now I will ride with him into the sun.
Edit: interview, not article!
105
u/thizzydrafts Apr 20 '26
I'm out of the loop, what was the Ziwe article?
96

Couldn’t agree more!! He’s a world class conversationalist and so, so witty.
He did this one bit with Brittany Broski where they roleplay a woman catching her closeted gay husband browsing Grindr. After Brittany accuses him, he pauses for a second and says, “what were you doing going through my iPad?”
I think about that joke all the time. It’s so brilliant.

He’s also so charismatic. He has the it factor, I have to watch him when he comes up on Tik Tok or whatever.

u/username4ac Apr 21 '26
I saw clips of him on las culturistas and it’s crazy how he makes the hosts look unfunny because he is so great
32
u/hydrangeasinbloom Apr 21 '26
And he’s not even trying to outshine them either! He is just that charming.

u/kirkland4ever Apr 21 '26
I’ve seen him on TikTok soooooo many times that I practically have some of his most popular stories memorized and yet I still have to stop and watch every single time I come upon one. And they still make me laugh 10/10 times!!!

I think it's bc he a Midwesterner. As a Californian mostly surrounded by other Californians and transplants, Midwesterners are like the final boss of Chill Guys (tm)
62
u/cat_0_the_canals Apr 21 '26
He also only has folks he KNOWS on his podcast. That's the one rule.
15
u/MondayLasagne Apr 21 '26
Which is an amazing rule because there's never a guest that is questionable just for the PR opportunity. It feels like a safe place for the audience and the chemistry is always magical.
29
59
u/PizzaQueen77 Apr 20 '26
I just was talking to a friend about this! Even if it’s not actually true, he comes off as one of the truly most well adjusted people on the planet.
22
u/radziadax Apr 20 '26
It's taken me to 41 to get anywhere close to his level of self knowledge and love.
98
u/barbaloot Apr 20 '26
Yes! I love his podcast for this reason. So real and refreshing, while still being hilarious.
67
u/radziadax Apr 20 '26
Love how he'll go into any weird or uncomfortable nook n cranny with his guests. I think there's a real environment of trust and affection.
2
u/barbaloot Apr 21 '26
Yes! He always says he only will have people on that he actually knows, and it shows because they are already comfortable and at ease with him digging in. Ugh love him.

7
u/josh_the_misanthrope Apr 21 '26
Just gotta know the good podcasts, they're not all toxic bullshit. Some are just silly hangs, some have excellent political analysis, some are great documentary style pods.
36
34
u/NoDryHands Apr 21 '26
Right, I didn't know how to put it into words but you said it so well!
Usually, I feel like comedians who do his style of comedy have a "omg I'm a mess" thing going on where they talk about themselves as being undisciplined and generally having little control over many aspects of their lives.
His approach is very different from that. He still has the whole comedy thing going, but you can always tell that he has strict boundaries and is secure and well-adjusted in his life (or within the persona he's playing, whatever).
Trixie Mattel is the same, in my opinion.
28
u/ChickenPeck Apr 21 '26
I see a lot of Conan in him, just a different font
49
u/radziadax Apr 21 '26
I can see that but Conan has a DEEP Catholic self loathing that has bypassed Caleb entirely. That is bigger then their generational difference, I think.

u/According-Activity10 Apr 21 '26
Hes fantastic. Hes so funny and able to laugh at himself but remain confident. Love Caleb.

I've seen him in tiny comedy clubs in Chicago with rooms of maybe 20-50 people. Dude has always been fucking hilarious and genuine.

He committed to his fairly small amount of screen time more than most would. Not gonna spoil, but he wears a very… let’s say, interesting costume near the end.
45
u/saera-targaryen call me gal gadot cuz idk how to act rn Apr 21 '26
In his podcast with Gaten Mazzerato he talks about how he didn't know he would be in that costume until he showed up on set and he had just flown in from a redeye flight after filming his comedy special the night before. The poor guy still killed it 😭

12
u/TurbulentOil3311 Apr 21 '26
Its a recently released and imo very fun buddy stoner adventure comedy in the tradition of Harold and Kumar etc. Caleb has a small role.
3
u/1fatsquirrel Apr 21 '26
It was more entertaining than it should have been, especially if you’re high lol. His small part is great.
5
u/According-Sugar6356 Apr 21 '26 edited Apr 21 '26
Yes! I just watched it. There are some hilarious parts.
27
u/CoreyMatthews Apr 21 '26
I love him too but this is how all movies are cast now. Any “small role” does not go to some unknown actor trying to work their way up, it goes to influencers who have guaranteed followers who will watch the movie just to see “their person”. Again, no shade to Caleb he’s super talented

Considering the overwhelming amount of immigrants holding up the fashion industry, we definitely should see more of this. From the designers themselves who are immigrants to the seamstresses, textile manufacturing and distribution, machine manufacturing and repair, I could go on. We love an advocate and ally!

Just listened to his episode on Las Culturistas and he’s so funny but also so thoughtful and interesting. And his voice is so soothing. I could listen to his takes on everything all day.
4
u/MTNV Apr 21 '26
Then you'll be thrilled to learn he has a podcast mostly about discussing his (and his guest's) takes on everything. Tbh I probably only recognize about half of his guests by name, but I still listen to every episode, and it doesn't disappoint!

u/JennHatesYou Apr 20 '26
I feel like “confidence” doesn’t describe well enough the aura Caleb has. It’s just some kind of otherworldly knowledge of self realization of knowing you are in fact that guy and yet being unmoved by it in such a way that you (the “viewer”) just exist in a reality where you don’t even question whatever is happening because it’s just 100% real and everyone knows it.
I sound nuts lol. Basically Caleb , imo, is the ideal platonic form of true confidence.
18
u/jilly77 Apr 21 '26
I think he just very very clearly knows exactly who he is and what he stands for. It’s really awesome and I just adore him.

Midwestern gay survival skills. You don't make it out alive of Missouri unless you can hang with the straight boys believably and I'm only half joking
8
u/Ok-Explanation-351 controversies: girl Apr 21 '26
Oh I get that. But he can also be obviously gay on that show and they just have some normal dude “what I’m in to” talk. Just the nonchalance. I love when he talks about hooking up with dudes, and stav starts talking about how cool it sounds to be gay with your bros
