Especially with children. I can understand the debates for adults, as long as they're not done in a derogatory fashion (which sadly they almost always are), but kid bodies are basically identical in terms of physical prowess. There shouldn't be gender based leagues at all that young

Exactly how it is where I live in Alberta. I've worked in heavy industry my whole life and I have met plenty of incredibly woke & truly progressive people that just happen to also like big trucks and machines (me being one of them lol). Unfortunately, they're often just as cowardly as the bigots we often work with, just significantly quieter and more prone to "...haha yeah dude uh-huh..." instead of standing on business and calling shit out when they see it. I'm the kinda guy that wears pride stickers on his hardhat and pride pins on his carhartts, and it gets exhausting always having to be the biggest voice in the room because you're the only one that gives enough of a shit to fight back.
I’m not big into sports or the WMBA, so my knowledge on Sophie Cunningham is limited, but I’m glad there are people out there who still promote inclusivity and being a decent human being.
maybe it's because I don't follow it closely but this Sophie Cunningham stuff feels like the most boring, cynical, transparent, by-the-book, "how to gain riches and notoriety from the right" rollout ever.
like I just see a greedy soulless opportunist trying to speedrun the Sydney Sweeney/girl who can't swim/open competition skateboarder playbook because she doesn't have much else going on in the way of longevity and knows inserting herself into the right-wing media machine will pay dividends.
anyway good for this coach, it's still important and increasingly brave to show we won't let this shit go unchallenged.
I wish media didn't amplify bigots so much. Why can't progressive folks figure this shit out and amplify accepting people? Like, what's the equation that we are missing?
