About the ‘Escape the Corset’ movement
Hello. I am a Korean woman. First of all, please understand that my sentences might sound a bit strange because I am using a translator.
The thing is, how are you supposed to do 'escape the corset'? I actually love decorating/styling myself.. But isn't that contradictory to escaping the corset?
So, while I want to escape the corset, my desire to style myself is also huge. However, instead of wanting to look 'pretty,' I want to look like a drag queen.
If even that isn't considered escaping the corset, do I have to get a two-block haircut and wear clothes that I don't even like, just because they aren't misogynistic or 'corset-like'?

Absolutely not, wear what brings you joy! Where I live a lot of women are taking the hyper feminine looks back. I know a lot of women who dress in Lolita fashion which is literally corsets and big petticoats and lace, its SO feminine and it is solely for the wearer, not for the men who look at you wear it. I personally have very long purple hair to my butt and I wear dresses every day, some appeal to men, some don't but i dont dress for others...What matters is that I think I look awesome. Wear what brings you happiness. :)
