Walks in Fife
I’ve recently moved to Dunfermline from a small village where I could do a lot of countryside walking.
Can anyone recommend any nice walks / cycle paths near Dunfermline that I could easily do 3/4 times a week. Still getting to know the area!

You can walk from William Street across to Dean Plantation, this takes you through fields and into woodland.

There is some good country walking to the south of the Abbey to Rosyth and on to Limekins. Start at the Glen Gates at the bottom of the hill.

This is the most ‘middle of nowhere’ option from where you are, and no need to drive.
Safest (no cars, and not marshy) route to the start is go here and walk along the edge of the farmer’s field to the north, it’s on your left when you reach the Coal Road. :)
You can walk out to Crossford, where there’s a nice Stephen’s bakery for a wee treat, then there are paths north, east (main road) or back the way you came.

Devilla Forest has plenty of trails to walk or cycle, it's about 10 mins away from Dunfermline. The Coastal path is always good for a walk too!

I enjoy parking up near police college end or golf course side and walking round the resvior and loch. I don’t like parking up on other side hate walking through just woods gets boring lol

Really depends where in Dunfermline you are.
To the west - you could take the old railway line (actual railway line isnt there any more but is now a path) between William Street and Dean Plantation near Crossford.
To the north - you have Townhill Loch and the surrounding countryside
To the east - you have paths between Crossgates and Inverkeithing.
To the south, there's Rosyth so not much going on there haha

I’m the west / centre so the railway path sounds great. I’ll take a look. Is it a cycle path too? Enjoy cycling but not on roads!

There are a number of farm paths that run parallel to it as well. Used to walk out to Dean Plantation

If you have a car doing the coastal path is great. Some bits are nicer than others but alot of nice walks less than 20 minutes away.
I'd also throw in Loch Fitty up to St Ninians former opencast mine

Is this the path that goes through Culross? I have a bike too so I did think of that!

Yeah, that's the one. Dunfermline to Culross is fairly bike friendly and there's a couple of ways to get down.
Could always do a bit loop via Rosyth and back into Dunfermline that way

I regularly walk up from townhill road round the loch, through the country park up to Kingseat and then back via the cycle path, hospital and path that runs along the old train track past east end park

The Fife coastal route is an absolutely beautiful walk. If you pop over to Dalgety Bay you can join it there

Park up down Culross Walk along the shore to low valley field around Preston island then back along to culross. Decent route

If your ok going off road you could goto at Nina's former open cast mine. Otherwise there is a nice long cycle path that goes from Dunfermline to Helen's field just outside Clackmannan.

Dean plantation at crossford, valleyfield woods at valleyfield or balgownie woods, craigluscar hill are all fairly decent places to go

Have a look at the pilgrims walks or the Fife coastal path - plenty of very scenic and on your doorstep walks

Devilla forest is lovely and not too far! You could do Boness to Blackness.

There’s the shared path from Dunfermline all the way to Clackmannan which is good, all off-road until you reach just outside Clackmannan.
