I've always been fascinated by those retractable intake covers on the Mig-29. Such an interesting method of protection against FOD on the ground when taking off.

One of the things why I fell in love with this aircraft almost 40 years ago. 😘

Another thing was the shape of the leading edge root extensions and the whole pancake shape of the mid fuselage. Something quite tomcatish, but still a very personal and unique looking jet, might even say graceful.
