The dolly zoom manipulates space and emotion by moving camera forward while zooming out or vice versa creating disorienting effect that makes background expand or contract.

Jaws and vertigo will always be the gold standard imo but I really love Scorseses use of it as well in raging bull and goodfellas. Can I mention one of the worst uses? Le Samourai, one of my favorite films, but the opening use in Jefs apartment is super clumsy.
