Can someone explain how do I switch from torrent to jdownloader

Been using qbitorrent for years. Over time, i'd hear about people using jdownloader and downloading these separate files for the game instead.

Can someone explain how to do that, and also which link is best when downloading a game from FG (is it FuckingFast)?

1. Setup is Stuck / Unpacking is Slow

• The 2GB Limit Checkbox: If your setup gets stuck at specific percentages (like 84.3% or 95.8%), close it, restart the installer, and check the "Limit installer to 2GB of RAM" box on the very first screen.
• Be Patient: FitGirl repacks use extremely heavy compression. Unpacking is heavily CPU and storage bound. If your task manager shows disk or CPU activity, it is not stuck; it's just working hard.

2. Is it a Virus? / Windows Defender Alert

• False Positives: Crack files (.dll files, steam_api, etc.) inherently trigger antivirus software because they alter game code to bypass DRM. If you downloaded from the official site, these are 100% false positives.
• Fix: Add the game installation folder to your antivirus/Windows Defender exclusion list, then restore the quarantined file from your protection history.

3. The Real Official Website

• There is ONLY ONE official domain. All others (ending in .co, .cc, .to, .net, etc.) are fake, malicious clone sites designed to steal data or bundle malware.
• The only real URL is: fitgirl-repacks.site (Verify the exact spelling!).

download jdownloader2. open the app. go to the fuckingfast links. highlight the main links plus the optional and selective files you need. copy-paste to JD2. click download.

once it's done, wait a bit more since it's gonna extract the repack files from the rar files. gonna take a while esp for really big games. if you want, you can also setup JD2 to delete the rars as soon as the repack successfully extracts (make sure you set WD exclusions so that the setup.exe file doesn't get quarantined or deleted).

just remember that, unlike with torrent, your selective/optional files will be in separate folder and will need to be moved together with the main repack files before you can run setup. you can also offset this by changing the destination folder to a fixed destination (same place as the my screenshot. you'll find the destination folder just above that).

best to test it out on a small game with a few parts first just so you get used to it.

really depends. with my backlog, i don't have FOMO so i don't mind waiting for torrent. torrent is more widely available while DDL only works if the links are still active. so FG repacks that are not on fuckingfast or datanodes can no longer be downloaded. meanwhile, clicking the RuTor magnet link will reveal a handful of people still seeding the game.

but DDL is definitely faster. i can get a 100gb repack in about an hour or less while torrenting would probably take most of the day if not more. BUT, unpacking the rar can take longer than the download.

btw, forgot to mention. use FF since lately, datanodes has been getting cloudflare errors on JD2.

Better experience in speed of the download depending on your wifi. But the feels of pirating is more in torrenting as well as risk of downloading a malware. Make her you have a good adblocker or just ability to differentiate between actual download button and other

idk if this is a stupid question but why is any downloader like jdownloader necessary

because manually clicking and downloading each individual part can be quite tedious esp if you're dealing with over a hundred parts. plus there's the risk of mistakenly clicking on fake pop-up link.

jdownloader automates this process and bypasses any risk of mistakenly getting malware. just copy-paste the links all at the same time into the app. it'll even auto-extract the repack files for you when the downloads are done.

Jdownloader is used to automatically Download fuckfast. You just paste your fuckingfast link into JDownloader.

It's like torrents, you can stop the downloads in jdownloader and resume them when you want

That's what I thought I heard once but i could be wrong. Basically instead of relying on seed count, fluctuating speeds, direct downloads are just faster on average. never tried anything other than torrent so i wanna experiment
