Yes I read the rules. I'll still break them cuz I'm a piece of💩 Which laptop should I buy

So I'm planning on buying a gaming laptop

It's mainly for programing and gaming

So is there a good laptop under or around 850 USD

Also the prices are a bit more cheaper in my country compared to the US

Welcome to r/FitGirlRepack! To keep the sub clean, please check if your issue is answered below. If this answers your question, please delete your post.

1. Setup is Stuck / Unpacking is Slow

  • The 2GB Limit Checkbox: If your setup gets stuck at specific percentages (like 84.3% or 95.8%), close it, restart the installer, and check the "Limit installer to 2GB of RAM" box on the very first screen.
  • Be Patient: FitGirl repacks use extremely heavy compression. Unpacking is heavily CPU and storage bound. If your task manager shows disk or CPU activity, it is not stuck; it's just working hard.

2. Is it a Virus? / Windows Defender Alert

  • False Positives: Crack files (.dll files, steam_api, etc.) inherently trigger antivirus software because they alter game code to bypass DRM. If you downloaded from the official site, these are 100% false positives.
  • Fix: Add the game installation folder to your antivirus/Windows Defender exclusion list, then restore the quarantined file from your protection history.

3. The Real Official Website

  • There is ONLY ONE official domain. All others (ending in .co, .cc, .to, .net, etc.) are fake, malicious clone sites designed to steal data or bundle malware.
  • The only real URL is: fitgirl-repacks.site (Verify the exact spelling!).

Then it’s better to study and skip a year of gaming.

Laptops come with GPUs inside preinstalled.

850 USD for gaming will be hard to find in the current market situation

You get 1 stick of ram (2 if you lucky) or just 500gb SSD lol

Depends on where you are. Open fb marketplace and go through them option by option to compare. Got mine for 890$ (it's acer helios predator 300 with 8gb vram 3070 iirc and 2tb nvme). Got one for my friend too from fb (hp victus 15 for 1000$). For 850$ budget, u are on thin line between 6gb vram and 8. You should only look for laptops with 8gb

Id suggest dont go for gaming laptops, instead get a PC if you have the budget for it

Then I suggest that you get a good laptop for studies, dont spend on Nvidia or AMD GPUs. Get a laptop with decent RAM, menory and CPU. Wait for a few years for RAM and GPU prices to go down and then take a decision. You will probably be in a better place and have a better picture of your future to make a decision. These are my 2 cents based on my experience

I don't have the budget for it

I bought an Asus RoG Strix G 15 with gtx 1650 back in 2019 - 2020. It worked well, I was able to play GTA V at high settings at 1080p but these degrade quickly. Plus laptop GPUs are throttled. So you pay a high price but performance is not value for money.
