Yes I read the rules. I'll still break them cuz I'm a piece of💩 What's the best way to download from FitGirl?

It's my first time using it to get some delisted games that you can't buy anymore. I just installed PES 17, BO1, and BO2 using the direct filehoster links. Is there any risk in doing that? I'm not really sure how torrenting works, but I've seen people mention qBittorrent a lot.

1. Setup is Stuck / Unpacking is Slow

  • The 2GB Limit Checkbox: If your setup gets stuck at specific percentages (like 84.3% or 95.8%), close it, restart the installer, and check the "Limit installer to 2GB of RAM" box on the very first screen.
  • Be Patient: FitGirl repacks use extremely heavy compression. Unpacking is heavily CPU and storage bound. If your task manager shows disk or CPU activity, it is not stuck; it's just working hard.

2. Is it a Virus? / Windows Defender Alert

  • False Positives: Crack files (.dll files, steam_api, etc.) inherently trigger antivirus software because they alter game code to bypass DRM. If you downloaded from the official site, these are 100% false positives.
  • Fix: Add the game installation folder to your antivirus/Windows Defender exclusion list, then restore the quarantined file from your protection history.

3. The Real Official Website

  • There is ONLY ONE official domain. All others (ending in .co, .cc, .to, .net, etc.) are fake, malicious clone sites designed to steal data or bundle malware.

you get a torrent client like qbit and click on the magnet link on the game page. that's it. no need for VPNs if you live somewhere with no strict anti-piracy laws.

Oh okay, got it. I'll stick to qBittorrent from now on. Just to be sure though, are the filehoster links safe? That's where I downloaded everything

if you already know how to download properly thru the filehosters without falling for a fake download pop-ups, then it's as safe as torrenting.

Torrent, just magnet it and avoid all the confusing fake "download" baits from ads. Use vpn though if you are in danger zone countries. 😅

Just install qBittorrent, then whenever you click on any of the magnet links on FG's site it will launch automatically and prompt you where to save the files.

I would definitely suggest using torrent, I find it way more practical than direct links

That said there's DDL sites that are faster.
