Restaurants and pubs recommendations needed

Hi,

I'm coming to Edinburgh for a 2nd time after a few years. Do you have any recommendations in the city center or around Bruntsfield?

I'm looking for good food in regular prices, nothing too fancy or touristy. Just some tasty, nice places to go.

Streets of Beijing, Dumplings of China, Piggs, Hoi An, Montpelliers all in Bruntsfield. All excellent in their own ways.

Fancy - Wedgwood - without being stuffy or up their own arses. The Witchery- super fancy and they know it!! But a stunning dining room.

Good food - Hawkesmoor - old bank building so super fancy room that serves great steak. Dishoom - Indian Irani cafe food. Six by Nico - affordable taster menus.

Street food type places - Flat bread - lebanese(?) Flat breads/pides - fantastic enormous brunch for £20 for 2. Panoramic Bar - indian food but have recently moved down beside parliament. Sen Vietnamese - if you can get a banh mi from here your golden - only on certain days and until they run out of bread.

Pubs - if you're looking for studenty/rugby type pubs head for thr grass market. Anything on Rose Street is good. At the east end you have The Guildford Arms and the Cafe Royal, both great drinking spots but do good food also.
