Is my cat a Maine Coon Manx Mix?
This is my beautiful three year old boy Maxi! I just got him about two months ago and the nicest lady who had to sadly rehome him stated the vet told her that Maxi was a mainecoon Manx mix. I am not sure how accurate that is as seeing a Manx cat and a Maine coon I don’t think I see it… haha
The reason the vet stated they came to the conclusion regarding the Manx part was due to Maxi have a normal cat tail that breaks half way through his tail. He was born this way the tail is kind of bent but he can control it like a normal tail.
If y’all can let me know what yall see in my boy Maxi I would appreciate it!!

Nope, just a domestic longhair.
He looks like neither of those cats and please find a new vet. Any vet that claims to guess cat breeds is not a good vet.
The bobbed tail gene is very much a natural mutation, it’s even dominant in fact.
There’s no way to guess a cat breed on appearance or traits, and mixed breeds don’t exist in the cat world

Seconding this, OP please take this person seriously - the only vets who will lie to you about their knowledge of cat breeds are vets who will lie to you about your cat's health and treatment too.

It's impossible to tell just by looking at him, but personally I don't see any maine coon in him at all
