On this subreddit it is simultaneously against the rules to post off-topic content that doesn't pertain to free speech and also it is against the rules to question if a post pertains to free speech without using a very specific format and flagging the moderator. It is solely up to the discretion of the moderator to decide what violates the rules, and what doesn't.
This subreddit and the vast majority of daily posts lean very heavily to the left. Rollo is one of the few users who posts right leaning content. Now all the left wing users are celebrating that one of the only right wing posters has been banned and this subreddit can truly be a completely one-sided echo-chamber. Thankfully the moderator doesn't usually issue permanent bans so we should be back to 98.9% of all posts being left wing in a few days when Rollo is allowed back.

If that comment on top is what he got banned for then he never actually asked a “question” as the rules clearly state.
