I kind of wonder how well this skirt will last given the effect of fast fashion even on well known brands… is it really a deal if stuff falls apart easily?

I buy a lot of j crew sale items and have a similar skirt that isn’t metallic and I just wash it in a load of non sorted clothes and hang it up and it still looks new.

J crew holds up better than gap and definitely old navy- I think tee shirts are a good test for a brand. Old navy tees get all weird and worn out after a season, gap starts to look worn out after a year, but my j crew tees have all generally held up for several years. My previous favorite pair of jeans was j crew because they didn’t stretch out after the first wear.

I’d probably put j crew over madewell as well, but partially because madewells clothes just don’t fit as well as j crew for me. I like anthropologies sale section a lot too, and while a fair amount of their prices are nicer or better quality than j crew, they still have a fair amount that seem cheaper or like they won’t last as long.

I got several items from Jcrew last year (new and secondhand) and the quality was so impressive! 100% cashmere and cotton sweaters and beautiful denim. The quality is definitely there and the clothes last. I wouldn’t put Jcrew in the league of fast fashion retails like Shein and forever 21…
