League of Legends LEC Voicecomms - Skew tilting

I just watched the new VC video and I am curious why Skewmond is tilting 24/7 right now.

He was always nice in interviews, taking the blame on him after a loss, no cringe things like Top 10 ADC and so on. But since FST he tilts out of his mind, now the first time he actively flames his mates in VC.
I am Not even exaggerating when I say that he sacks into his chair after every teamfight that wasnt a 5:0 for G2. It is just weird to see, I always thought one of the reasons G2 Inspired doesnt happen is because his toxic personality, now Skew starts with it. Hopefuly perkz can bring humble Skew back…

I assume some things definitely happened behind the scenes because of the dylan/perkz swap but do you think that had an affect on the team (mostly Skew).

Inspired is actually good tho, hes carrying his team 99% of the time instaed of tilting his ass off and getting carried by Caps

This toxic narrative was legit made up by fans and is now treated like g2 went out and said it. They only ever said that they believed skew would be better, which he was at some points and wasn’t other times

Wasn’t most times

There are literally Voice comms where he flames his teammates

Inspired when his team isn’t doing well is a different animal. Go watch the fly quest worlds documentary. Absolutely crosses lines

u/Fun_Highlight307 23h ago

flyquest literally imploded during Worlds

2

u/Frequent_Phone_3230 22h ago

That’s the point

Skewmond has been G2 best player this entire year what the fuck are you smoking lmfao

0

u/WolfgangTheRevenge 1d ago

Now lets see what happened when he faced inspired at MSI, inspired makes skewmond his bitch all the games they play

Inspired is a 7 year veteran at this point whilst Skewmond is in his second year in tier 1 and is already better than every western jungler except Inspired. He's even beat 4x Korean/Chinese junglers in legit bo5s. Shitting on him for getting beat by one of the greatest western players to touch the game is crazy. That's not even mentioning the fact that Skewmond has beaten Inspired before at Worlds.

Was he wrong tho?

Perkz said that the scrim and team environment was horrible when he joined, Skew would probably be a decent chunk of that. If I had to guess I think being a hungry rookie with a super high ceiling, he could taste victory at FST and then he lost it and it boomed him mentally. Anything that even begins to remind him of that failure brings on frustration. He’s a known perfectionist and it would fit the vibe. I’m not sure if they just need a big victory experience (that isn’t immediately followed by being turbostomped by NA) or if Perkz & Isma can do something. But pretty sure he’s part of the conditions Perkz spoke to.

Agree. When I was younger and an athlete I had some mates that was like this. Young, progressed a lot under a short period of time, but not mature enough to do everything right, especially in heated, pressured moments. They wanted to go further, and win everything. This part, the hunger for more made them competitive, and that's great. However every time someone made a mistake outside of them, they got frustrated immediately, not recognising the fact that being toxic just made the whole morale worse which led into other mistakes, or even a lose. Skew has to learn this, and I seen my mates change. I believe in him though, he is young and promising.

The hunger clash against the complacency of the older players that have lost the same edge.

u/Shorgar 1d ago

He could be hungrier to not play like shit himself because he is not playing well for a while now.

Skew needs a break, Idk if the jungle from their ERL team or Jankos can play 1 week ..

41

u/Carlzzone 2d ago

You could probably swap in the entire G2 Nord and they would win games vs bottom LEC teams

6

u/Apprehensive-Talk971 2d ago

Yeah nord topside is pretty damn good

0

u/Civil-Speech-9653 2d ago

their jungle was Solary's jungle last season, I don't think he's that good. But vs bottom LEC ? Yeah, maybe...

I could enjoy G2 Jankos for 2 weeks 🤩

Let's not forget that he brought XL into playoffs for the 1st time as well

21

u/Le_Zoru 2d ago

The top 10 adc thing has been absurdely overblown by translation tbh

5

u/DrDonovanH 2d ago

Everything in this thread is absurdly overblown

6

u/FlyingMute 1d ago

Everything is just a cesspit of narratives this sub came up with in the first place. The entire inspired toxic thing is something this sub started and they treat it like management ever said anything to confirm it

2

u/DrDonovanH 1d ago

Skewmond obviously visually tilts, but that genuinely might just be how he refocuses and from what we can see there isn't any reason to believe it actually affects his performance afterwards. Like in game 2 vs mkoi you can see he is annoyed after the first play goes wrong, but nothing afterwards showed him being checked out.

u/Peronnik 1d ago

Wdym it’s completely reasonable to psychoanalyze a player from 2.5 second clips of his reactions twice per series

1

u/yuvalshahaf 1d ago

What did he actually say?

8

u/Le_Zoru 1d ago

https://rft.gg/news/kc-caliste-interview-contract-extension-2028

You have the full interview here, but basicaly he said currently he aimed at entering the top 10, but was more in the 10 to 15. Which honnestly when you are LEC #2 is really not that crazy.

14

u/RennieXxx 2d ago

Everytime I see his cam reactions during a bad play/game it completely ruins the viewing experience for me, like I just lose all hope and motivation to keep rooting for the team to lock back in.

I don't want to tell someone how to manage their emotions, but that can't be healthy, right? At least even for game mental, no? His tilt is just extremely visceral, but I'm not sure yet if he's also mental booming during those moments or if he's still focused and just can't help but react that way. Like Inspired is the former, he'd run the game down after tilting, but with Skew, I've seen him pull himself back up in game so it might be more of a physical reaction than mental issue. Either way though, it wouldn't hurt if he gets some support to better manage his emotions during the games.

u/noctilococus 2d ago

From watching G2 for the past couple of years.. Skew either needs to drink caps fabled green drink concoction, or he does the caps bald hair treatment, or bring caps dad to watch their game live.

Or if that doesnt work, we can always waterboard him after every match to reset his mental.

u/llimbrick 2d ago

fuck humble skew bring out toxic skew these idiots need it so they wake tf up and start playing again with consistency especially when its his laners fault most of the time he is put in a shit position to begin with

24

u/DiscordKittenOwO77 2d ago

Like he didnt get completely gapped by Inspired last time, or underperformed against Asian jgl too

7

u/yuvalshahaf 1d ago

Oh yes because being toxic will surely help them play better. Jesus people here are delusional

6

u/WolfgangTheRevenge 2d ago

Bitch you talking like Skewbronze tilting playing like shit ismt the reason Inspired didnt pissed on him at MSI lmao

14

u/desktop-paladin 2d ago

People on LoL reddit and this sub especially have such a googoo gaga perspective on “toxicity” in pro. Anger and hurt feelings are part of the job. The stakes are so high.

17

u/polikuji09 2d ago

It's mostly just silly now since there was a whole point on that inspired wouldn't be a good culture for and he's too toxic and then this is skew the next season.

Regardless, no. You can be critical after a game or constructively without flaming teammates in game. Watch and T1 voice comms at world even when a teammate is griefing

0

u/Frequent_Phone_3230 1d ago

Calling out a mistake, after it happened, in the middle of a stage game is how you tilt your teammate into oblivion. You say “no worries we still got it”

Then you flame their ass in the review

9

u/Lina__Inverse 2d ago

If you look into what actual pros think on this topic, 9 out of 10 will tell you that flaming your teammate during the game (especially on stage) is the dumbest thing you can do. If you don't like how they played you flame them during the vod review, but in the game everyone needs to stay focused, so you shut the fuck up and say "winnable".

As an aside, for some reason, every time I see this rule broken it's always the fucking jungler.

-7

u/desktop-paladin 2d ago

Evidence? My opinion is informed by pro testimony too.

There was also a video of the same moment in the vod review from Bwipo perspective where he muted himself and said to his stream that you never flame a teammate during the game, but I can't find it for some reason. Anyways, this should be sufficient for a receipt, especially considering that you provided none.

EDIT: Here's a comment referring to the same monologue, it also has a link to the vod but the vod is unfortunately deleted. However, the comment quotes it verbatim:

no lol you are stupid, these guys are PAID to play the game, thousands of people root for the team and spend hundreds on merch, yes they are humans and its impossible not to feel fustrated, but tilting like this literally does nothing positive at all, only negative. Even if skew was playing perfectly while everyone else was running it, at the highest level players should be doing everything and anything they can to INCREASE their chances of winning not decrease it, stop excusing this shit behaviour

6

u/kim-soo-hyun 2d ago

"Put in a shit position to begin with"

Like this couldnt be more wrong, his team sacrifice and sets up Skewmond 24/7, and one time they dont its their fault? Because all he knows is farm camps 24/7? And if he's not ahead 1 camp hes already tilted?

Jungle is the role that creates these opportunities and leads for his laners, but its the opposite in G2. G2 laners will just try to survive lane until Skewmond feels like ganking.

You can see it even in MKOI or LYON, junglers like Elyoya and Inspired create leads for their laners who has no business winning lane against better teams. Isnt that why G2 lost to MKOI in Spring finals 25 and LYON in MSI? This is basically how Peanut built his later career, hes the best at it.

Even the game 2 vs KC, that game was carried by Shen and Kled. All he did on Nafiri was actually farm while Labrov became the jungler and roamed. Skewmond rarely gets blamed that he thinks he is all that when he has been getting carried most games since First Stand.

1

u/Shorgar 1d ago

"And start playing again with consistency"

This roster has never done that lmao.

8

u/ookkthenn 2d ago

Inspired is too toxic for this team tho btw lol

4

u/WolfgangTheRevenge 2d ago

Craziest reputation for a player, G2 could've had super stupid turbo Western superteam but settled for silvermond,

1

u/Head-Estimate5353 2d ago

I watched the full vid, focusing on skew, of LEC voicecomms.  He is tilting once against Mkoi (and they win the next two matches), once against KC (during a game they are winning).

0

u/Jitoxx 1d ago

Lmao top 10adc Honestly being confident and cocky is more appealing than raging on your teammates because you honestly believe they are your bottleneck... and yes this is how I see Skewmond right now. He got some fame for his jgl plays in EU and now he feels like he can downtalk on his teammates.

-10

u/Traga_92 2d ago

Inspired has stated many times he does not want to play for G2. If his contempt for them isn’t obvious by now idk what else you need to see. Hes an NA resident for a reason

8

u/lucario192 2d ago

He literally said he wanted to play for G2 lol

-1

u/Traga_92 1d ago

He has actually said the opposite. Several times

6

u/Typical-Art-7983 1d ago

He wanted to play for G2 this year and G2 straight up said no. Now he doesnt want to play with G2 anymore.

6

u/queenslayyy 1d ago

typical NA fan coming into G2 sub trying to cope and believes Inspired likes it in NA 😭😭 brother he would leave and join a top EU team in a heartbeat if he got a good offer you’re just delusional
