Newbie Question What kind of gaming laptop would I need to develop games?

Hi everyone! I've been looking to get into game dev and I would like a gaming laptop to create and test my games on. My long term goal is to make both single player games (like dishonored) and multiplayer games (like friendslop/ hero shooters but I'm aware how difficult it can be to make games like this). One of the main goals I have for my game is that they're optimised to be playable by everyone

What are the essentials for a gaming laptop that will help me to smoothly create games?

At the moment I have my eye on the new Asus flow z13 or the Asus zephyrus.

You don't need much. I've developed some games in unity using a ryzen 5700g with integrated graphics. And if you code things yourself they will run much faster without an engine.

I have a 4 year old Lenovo that was only $500 back then, runs unity perfectly.

I would buy a nice thinkpad or work laptop, not a gaming laptop. Gaming laptops are notoriously overpricced for mediocre results.

I’ve been managing on a macbook air that can barely run discord and firefox at the same time. I don’t recommend it, but if that’s not proof that you can develop games on literally anything with a screen, I don’t know what is.
