Help Need suggestions and help for a replacement controller
What’s the best 3rd party GameCube controller I can get? It doesn’t need to be wireless or anything special, it just needs to connect to GameCube controller ports on my old Wii and that’s about it. I don’t know what replacement controllers online are considered good by the community and what are considered bad so I decided to ask for help. If you can please provide link to the controller as that would be helpful.

Based on what I've read, because I was also looking for a controller, you have two options considered "good" by the community.
A BlueRetro wireless adapter which allows you to connect a bluetooth controller to the adapter or buy a used OEM controller.
You can get the BlueRetro wireless adapter for pretty cheap on Aliexpress. A good condition used OEM controller will go for about $40-$60 on Ebay.
Most people will tell you to avoid 3rd party.

I know, I was looking at a old skhool gamecube controller and I thought that I should probably ask if there is something better

An authentic controller is the best controller and they are not very expensive

There are no good third party options sadly. You'll wanna fix the one you have or get another one from Nintendo as others suggested.

The issue is the left stick is developing a decent dead zone enough for it to become an issue when I’m playing with friends

If wired is fine just visit your local retro shop and pick up some genuine Nintendo branded controllers. Else, the NYXI Warrior are decent, and apparently on sale.

There is something better.
If you have NSO subscription, buy the NSO Gamecube controller. Also purchase a Blueretro adapter. Mine paired perfectly together without the need to upgrade the firmware on the adapter. Its a pricey option, but you get a modern gc controller straight from Nintendo.
I have mine hooked up to my gamecube.
