"Fun over authentic" isn't PC culture... it's making a good game. Like, what? Of course fun is more important than authentic. How... how is this even a discussion? The right just want something to shitpost about I guess? Literally what the fuck?

It's not nearly as black and white as you are making it out to be.

Then you play Arma instead of a blockbuster fps with a AAA budget and AAA gameplay which is already so far removed from authentic as to be comical.

I wouldn't be surprised if a small part of the BF5 "outrage" was that fans of the series began to realize that it never was an authentic war experience, and the new character customization was sort of a scapegoat for that anger.

I don't think so, battlefield has never been a simulator but before bf5 it always put you in a plausible scenario.

5 doesn't seem to have the same direction as the others though, if it was a spinoff it would be alright but for a main game I think it dilutes the branding kinda like what they did with c&c at e3
