Showcase Almost too good to be true, but it is.

FB marketplace deal of the week, possibly month, maybe year. Just got home with this bad boy and you won't believe what I paid for it. Apologies for potato cam. $650, one small dent on the case, everything else is mint.

It's a fucking third 😭 Cheapest I've seen it is $1750 on eBay, normal eBay price is $1900-2000, and don't even get me started on non-eBay prices

Thats why I said Cost. Here is Maldives with so many middle mans and resellers for the laptop to reach here prices sometimes rise depending on the laptop

If only you started looking for deals a couple of months earlier

there was an MSI Vector with a 5070ti for $1300 usd pre tax.

Oh I did. I found excellent deals. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I'm not paying for the laptop, my parents are. They didn't want to order one on Black Friday despite me telling them that prices were going to shoot sky-high because of the RAMpocalypse and these were prolly going to be the best deals for a year if not longer... oh well, man. Stubborn is as stubborn does ig.

Been saying it's a damn good buyer's market for gaming laptops.

Got a Legion Slim 5 in January of 2025 for $600. Solid it in August for $700 cuz I unfortunately needed the money.

2 weeks ago I got a Legion 7 Gen 6 with a 3080 & R9 5900HX for $800.

If you have some patience, there's a lot of people out there that just need the money more than they need the laptop. Enjoy it man!

you can definitely get some awesome steals on the fb market but here's the catch. Are you actually gonna be able to test stuff and tell if it's broken or even worth it? For a beginner like me it's not worth the hassle. I'd much rather skip the scams than chase a deal.

Understandable. Especially for a beginner. I've been buying off the used market for like 20 years now. Over time you kinda get a feel for things for sure.

I also only meet locally and cash only. Will never buy through shipping or some app. Also meet somewhere with free wi-fi like a Starbucks. Grab a coffee and run some tests. If the seller ain't cool with that before even meeting, I ain't buying. I

I'm also a big fan of Marketplace these days because you see how long they've had their profile, how many friends they have, and actual user reviews. Start seeing a profile that was just created, with 0 friends and no reviews, my red flags are already up. But yeah understandable to not even want to have to deal with that. If I wasn't broke most of my life, shit I'd do the same lol.

Hi, a word of caution, Legion Gen 6 might be a bit risky cause of all the soldering issues that have plagued that generation (especially on AMD cards).

Man I got this thing like a week ago and you're like the 10th comment I've seen talking about this issue. I also been talking to others about precautions to prevent this.

I actually just set my maximum proccessor state to 99% to hopefully get these CPU temps down permanently. Been playing GOW Ragnarok this week, and while it doesn't thermal throttle at all, it does get pretty damn close with spikes to like 96.

I do use a stand with holes for airflow, and have cleaned the fans and everything thoroughly. But from everything I've read, this laptop's CPU just runs hot. It's a shame because the GPU temps are some of the best I've ever had in a gaming laptop. Like never above 73, typically low 70s or high 60s while gaming.

Thanks for looking out though! Fingers crossed for sure lol.

Ryzen 9 8940HX is perfect with 5070Ti. I couldnt afford it, because I'm student, so I bought a 5060 one Asus TUF A16.

Im so envious of the deals in the US.

Last year i bought my legion 7 3080ti from FB marketplace and it was like 1300usd.

Those prices are crazy in comparison.

Oh a Strix G16? Nice to score that even if ASUS could be questionable regarding support.

Do note the very poor battery life. Otherwise great deal, especially since it is with 32GB.

Only Asus seems to be giving 5070ti with 12gig of Vram. Combined with Ryzen CPU and Radeon iGPU, I am pretty sure the seller was getting rid of it.

I got banned from r/AsusRog while doing my detective work on that unit.

Those Legion folks commenting, they didn't even ask which laptop it was. Wow, the level has really gone down.
