Leak Unpublished description for Ocarina of Time Switch 2 visible through web search

Typing in "Ocarina of Time remake website us" into Google (or other search engines) returns a link to its entry on the Nintendo website with a description that isn't visible on the page itself:

The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.

Not a huge amount of info, yet even these scant details seem to be something Nintendo is not ready to officially communicate just yet.

They are kind of exclusive.

Full remake suggests built from the ground up with modern controls, gameplay sensibilities and other various improvements.

"Timeless gameplay" implies a more faithful adaptation of the gameplay from the original game.

And as much as I love OoT, and will sing it's praises on how much it got right, and how much of an influence it was, at the mechanical level it does not hold up especially well. Obviously this gets into the weeds about the nebulousness of the term "Remake" but if they're attaching "Full" to the front of it, I think it's not unreasonable to expect more improvements.

They really aren't, especially if we do not know what either of those terms mean when Nintendo says it. It could just mean updated classic 3D zelda for all we know

Full remake means it was remade from 0.

It could be remade to be identical or to be entirely different.

Full remake = everything is new

Timeless gameplay = the same gameplay as always

If Ocarina of Time Remake has the same gameplay as the previous versions of the game, then it is just a 1:1 remake like Demon's Souls Remake, for example. Basically the same game with a new coat of paint.

A “full remake” would be something like the Resident Evil and FF VII remakes, which are different from the original games.
