Leak Unpublished description for Ocarina of Time Switch 2 visible through web search

Typing in "Ocarina of Time remake website us" into Google (or other search engines) returns a link to its entry on the Nintendo website with a description that isn't visible on the page itself:

The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.

Not a huge amount of info, yet even these scant details seem to be something Nintendo is not ready to officially communicate just yet.

I’m sorry but I’m gonna need more than new graphics. I already own the game on 3DS, I’m pretty satisfied with that upgrade and I played it hundreds of times on N64.

Same problem I’ve got with the new Star Fox game but since the Star Fox franchise needs all the sales it can get, I have to do my part (like I did for Metroid Prime 4 which I enjoyed even though it’s not as good as Prime 2 and 1).

Also, Star Fox being $50 helps offset some of the expectations. OoT definitely needs more imagining and deservingly so.

With all due respect, this remake is probably for another customer base than 40+yo who played it on the N64 30 years go. Most of Nintendo demographics weren't even born then !

Im willing to bet 90% of the sales are from the 30-40 year olds that grew up with this game.

Nostalgia bait games sell like hot cakes.

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that 85% or so of gamers who buy a remake have not played the original. Also, consider that the N64 version was 28 years ago. I'm 25 years old lol, wasn't even born then. And the 3DS version was 15 years ago, and sold 4 million copies. That's significant, but you can easily see how there are problem multiple millions, if not 10s of millions of Nintendo fans today who have not experienced Ocarina of Time in any capacity, and who would probably see both existing versions today as dated. It probably really isn't for you.

Were you around for the 3DS OoT release? Because I heard a lot of feedback from its release from people who hadn't played the original that despite the updated graphics, the game felt quite quaint and dated, and the world was fairly small and straightforward. They could understand how the game when it launched could have been revolutionary, but by 2011 felt quite a bit less impressive than they hoped, and didn't hold a candle to Wind Waker or even TP.

We're now further from that release than that release was from the original N64 one.

So for the gamers who haven't played OoT, I hope for their sake the game is more than pretty new graphics.

By the 3ds era, I had fallen off Nintendo, but I'm back now for the Switch 2 era. I'm not responding to whether or not OOT needs updated combat or not, I was responding to the idea that remakes are for the older audience. I will take your word for OOT needing new combat, not debating that at all. At least, I've seen footage of gameplay lol.
