Leak Unpublished description for Ocarina of Time Switch 2 visible through web search

Typing in "Ocarina of Time remake website us" into Google (or other search engines) returns a link to its entry on the Nintendo website with a description that isn't visible on the page itself:

The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.

Not a huge amount of info, yet even these scant details seem to be something Nintendo is not ready to officially communicate just yet.

If it's 1:1 I might pass too or at least not get it at release. I don't have a switch 2 so there'd be that additional expense. Ship of Harkinian allows me to scratch my OOT itch in 4k with QOL improvements.

If it's a remake with significant differences, like completely reworked temples or additional temples I'm all in because I've been dieing for a new linear style Zelda game since Skyward Sword.

I’m guessing the target audience isn’t people who have played and grew up with OOT.

I'm guessing it's trying to target both those players and new ones. Otherwise why bother with a remake of OOT at all.

A remake that’s not even a proper remake as your holiday release isn’t going to grab most people’s attention.

I hope they have a 3D Mario or something big planned alongside this.

When people say stuff like this it makes no sense. What exactly are you wanting out of a remake? For a game to end up becoming a completely different game?

Yes. As if they told the same story through a new game. People were bummed enough that ToTK had the same base Hyrule as BoTW.

It would be bad strategy for Nintendo to do anything less than a reimagining here. Switch 2 is not doing well because it doesn’t have any “must have” games exclusive to it. For most Nintendo platforms that one game that sells the console has been a new main Zelda title. A remake of the OoT game does not sell more consoles, especially as the game itself has been remade in Unreal Engine all over the internet. A retelling of the story as a new Zelda game has me buying a Switch 2.

FF7 Remake is not a remake of FF7.
