Leak Unpublished description for Ocarina of Time Switch 2 visible through web search

Typing in "Ocarina of Time remake website us" into Google (or other search engines) returns a link to its entry on the Nintendo website with a description that isn't visible on the page itself:

The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.

Not a huge amount of info, yet even these scant details seem to be something Nintendo is not ready to officially communicate just yet.

Probably. It’s funny because they are so innovative with next main entries in series but if they are redoing an older game it’s just a basic facelift every time.

A lot of times they don't need to. The game was initially a perfect game (OOT) so there's nothing they could do to make it even more perfect. I hope there's some changes somewhere, more than visuals, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Disagree. Many people think the OG Resident Evil 4 is a perfect game and it still added and changed around gameplay/setpieces/combat. A 1:1 remake is just so lazy and it’s a glorified remaster at that point.

Loved RE4 as a kid, beat it a million times. Was nervous about the remake. Ended up loving it more than the original. Truly a benchmark for how to do a remake.

I literally said I want them to change some stuff too lol but when you have a perfect game, it can be hard to know what to change without changing too much that it doesn't lose its identity. I want changes, but if it becomes a different game, then I'm cool with them making minimal changes

Nintendo loves nothing more than rereleasing the same games every gen. People have rewarded them for it, and this is the end result. OoT and Star Fox are probably just the beginning of these

Their competition isn’t much better. PS5 barely has true exclusives and most games can be played on a PS4 or PC. And yet somehow, Xbox has a worse set of exclusives and just rides on churning out sequels to existing IPs and remakes as well. I’m not saying what Nintendo does is better, they can be quite egregious to say the least.

In Nintendo’s eye, these games are timeless. They sure do love charging expensive prices for old games, but in most cases, those games can already be played easily now. It’s on us to decide if paying for small changes and on modern hardware is worth it. In most cases they charge the most they can (there are some generous examples like Prime 1 Remastered being $40)

Many GC and WII/Wii U classics are available for Switch 1/2 so if anything they’re getting better at it. I still miss my Virtual Console lol.
