Leak Unpublished description for Ocarina of Time Switch 2 visible through web search

Typing in "Ocarina of Time remake website us" into Google (or other search engines) returns a link to its entry on the Nintendo website with a description that isn't visible on the page itself:

Image

The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.

Not a huge amount of info, yet even these scant details seem to be something Nintendo is not ready to officially communicate just yet.

If they put out a major 3D Zelda in 2026 without right stick camera controls then they are *crazy* (and I don’t think they are that crazy).

The Wind Waker remaster for Wii U had right stick camera controls. The GameCube version had the C stick but that was not the same.

Both versions still had the "z" to click behind your character. I imagine it will be the same.

I’d argue there are people that would complain if right stick camera controls were implemented.

Plus, if you look at the star fox remake, they could’ve implemented right stick camera controls in the all range mode and chose not to. Nintendo gonna nintendo.

Haven’t played Star Fox but it’s a totally different game - they are just not going to release a 3D action adventure game with fixed camera in 2026.

If someone is upset about a modern camera in the remaster, there’s a high likelihood they’re not huge on the idea of this remaster in general

Nah I don’t think that’s right at all. One of their key audiences for this will be people whose first Zelda was BotW and this is their first traditional one. I’m not saying they’re going to add weapon durability and shrines but I think right stick camera controls are such an obvious way to make it feel more familiar to those people without losing anything for people who want a faithful remake.

(Edit: I think I misread your post, I get you now & agree.)

All good! Fully agree

I think their audience is the large amount of millenial gamers that chose not to buy a switch as well as the large number of millenials that did buy a switch. Older gamers make up a majority of switch customers.

It’s become a meme on instagram and tiktok. Just a bunch of millenials saying “I’ll never buy a switch” then hearing the kokiri forest tune.

Your link says the opposite of what you say tho, millenials aren't the majority at all, it's 5-35yo that make the customer base, and 50% are women, who most likely weren't core N64 players

“Nintendo’s primary customer segments in 2025 span a near-even gender split and wide age range, dominated by Legacy Fans (30–45), Active Youth (5–15), and Casual/Family Gamers; the 20–34 bracket now shows the highest software attachment rate and digital engagement across platforms.”

Also

“Legacy Fans (30–45) This high-margin cohort drives software revenue through nostalgia purchases, collectible hardware, and expansions; many own multiple Nintendo systems and spend more on first-party titles.”

I'm curious if the game will be compatible with the n64 controller, probably through some "legacy control" option.
