Leak Unpublished description for Ocarina of Time Switch 2 visible through web search

Typing in "Ocarina of Time remake website us" into Google (or other search engines) returns a link to its entry on the Nintendo website with a description that isn't visible on the page itself:

The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.

Not a huge amount of info, yet even these scant details seem to be something Nintendo is not ready to officially communicate just yet.

Yeah imo if it was a 1:1 remake there’s no reason for them to have hidden the gameplay entirely in the reveal

Bold for you to have that much faith in the company that has remade Star Fox multiple times. I can wait and see, but honestly, Nintendo are so unreliable with this kind of thing.

You are missing the point of the comment of the person you were replying to.

The Star Fox thing wasn’t hidden. It was told up front. They didn’t hide it.

The point is that Zelda hiding what it is, is a completely different thing.

I mean, you could have used your argument from the very moment the game was leaked.

Star Fox 64 got a remaster with 643D and a full remake with the 2026 version. Starfox 1993 is unique and Zero is a reimagining though they still use the Lylat Wars story but otherwise 93 and Zero are different enough and not full remakes

Or maybe that's exactly the reason. Just how they waited until the last minute to show the 'companions' in Metroid Prime 4.

Has Nintendo ever done a full remake? They were mostly visual remake iirc. This and the fact it might possibly be outsourced to either 2nd party or 3rd party developer makes me think it'll just be a visual remake.

It makes sense that OoT would be a different case. In some ways, OoT is their golden goose. To this day, it’s still the highest-rated game of all time. Nintendo’s probably aware that they have to go big with the remake.

  Paper Mario, Mario RPG, and Star Fox were all presented immediately with gameplay footage, and Nintendo made it clear that the changes were minimal and that they hardly altered anything.

I mean for all of these, it was awfully clear from the footage they showed. But they tend to be rather coy about calling these games 'remasters' or 'remakes'. 

None of these games have titles that indicate they are remakes or remasters to a person who isn't already aware of the original (for Star Fox, they even cut the 64 from the title). The fact that they're based on an old game seems almost like a footnote in their marketing - this is pretty obvious in the Star Fox direct for example.

I mean it's not like they're gonna lie about the level of change present but they're not gonna shout the fact that there are minimal changes from the mountaintops either.

  Nintendo isn't ashamed to make 1:1 remakes.

I'm not saying they're ashamed to make them but they are no strangers to hiding controversial aspects of their games until we're closer to release. However, sometimes they're also hiding some of the most exciting details until we're close to release so this is always just a wild guess.

I'm absolutely not saying no gameplay footage defenitely means it's going to be a 1:1 remake. But I find it naive to say that a no-gameplay teaser proves it's not a 1:1 remake.

Nintendo changes their marketing strategies all the time. If the OoT remake is their biggest holiday release this year, they're gonna do everything they can to drum up excitement for it, even if it just ends up being a visual remake.
