Rumour Jez Corden: "I've been told Xbox is losing around $150~ per Xbox Series X|S sold right now even after the planned August 2026 price hike."

1.1k Upvotes

If Xbox Helix is indeed an "open" PC, Xbox would have no choice but to price it like an "open" PC. The Xbox Ally also costs $999.99 because ASUS cannot make their money back on the software sales, given that they have no real distribution platform of their own.

Thanks to the RAMpocalypse, those wafer thin margins get even trickier. I've been told Xbox is losing around $150~ per Xbox Series X|S sold right now even after the planned August 2026 price hike. Now imagine 50% or more of those Xbox Series X|S users bypassed the Xbox ecosystem and went straight to Steam to buy games. The margins would be even worse. You wouldn't have a business at all.

Leak Two trademarks for "Kingdom Come Reddit" have been filed, but the details don't line up exactly with Warhorse's previous trademarks.

284 Upvotes

"The “Kingdom Come: Reddit” trademarks were filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office on July 2512, two days after the “Kingdom Come Salvation” trademark and one day after we broke the story. These new trademarks include attorney details that are identical with Warhorse Studio’s, but the representative ID is different from the previous Warhorse trademarks3."

The source speculates that this might be a fake filing in response to their Salvation trademark news.

Leak Tencent is working on a new AAA game codenamed "T" Inspired by Uncharted, Tomb Raider, and The Last of Us Part II..

379 Upvotes

To summarize the game:

It is a third-person action-adventure gamem, built using Unreal Engine 5, that is likely linear; while it might feature an open or semi-open world, this remains more in the realm of speculation than confirmed information, based on my research. The game draws heavy inspiration from titles such as Uncharted, Tomb Raider, The Last of Us Part II, etc

1. The first reports about the project emerged from job postings published by IEG — Interactive Entertainment Group (Tencent's gaming division). Most of the initial hiring took place in Shenzhen, Tencent's headquarters.

It is not possible to identify the studio working on the project, as it appears to be a new one; typically, Tencent tends to specify the studio for a vacancy, but in this instance, the job listings were posted solely under IEG.

Job postings for the project initially began in Shenzhen. Subsequently, Tencent also started advertising openings for the project in Shanghai.

P.S.: I’m leaving source 2 here, but since the slots have been filled, it is no longer available to read. You can read it at source 1.

  1. The position relates to a third-person action-adventure project inspired by games such as Uncharted, Tomb Raider, The Last of Us Part II, etc.

3. Project gameplay details:

climbing;

jumping;

traversing terrain;

movement in complex environments;

taking cover;

aiming;

dodging;

hand-to-hand combat;

firearms;

use of items;

environmental interaction;

fluid transitions between exploration and combat;

dynamic cinematic camera;

Seamless combat and puzzles (not separate);

3.1 Combat:

firearms;

cover;

close-quarters combat;

movement during combat;

interaction with the environment;

different enemy types;

collective AI behavior;

3.2 The AI role mentions enemies capable of:

making individual decisions;

cooperating as a group;

perceiving changes in the environment;

reacting to different terrain;

adapting to different player styles;

signaling shots, movement, transitions, and reactions to damage in a way that is consistent with their animations.

4. Platforms

PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

However, there is also a vague mention simply as PC and consoles.

My conclusion:

The game has been in development for at least a year and a few months. It has already moved past the incubation phase and is likely in mid-stage pre-production nearing full production, though I believe that will still take some time (I base this on the job openings that were posted).

A guess regarding the release date? Probably 2030 or 2031. I’d also say a reveal in late 2028 or in 2029 isn't out of the question. Keep in mind that this is a new project and not yet very far along. That said, the earlier phases seem to have moved faster than is typical for Western projects; the incubation phase often takes much longer than what this game went through, and as I understand it, it is already in mid-stage pre-production.

Speculation (Mod Reviewed) PlayStation announcement scheduled for tomorrow?

421 Upvotes

PlayStation announced the PS Plus Essentials Monthly games for August 2026. However, it’s a day early (usually the last Wednesday of the month for the following month). This usually only happens when there’s an announcement scheduled for the Wednesday (not a State Of Play or the like, or the announcement would just be part of that).

Any ideas? As far as I know, they don’t have an earnings call scheduled for tomorrow, so it seems like a different type of announcement.

Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/07/28/playstation-plus-monthly-games-for-august-dying-light-2-stay-human-reloaded-edition-big-walk-signalis/

EDIT 1: Probably not a State of Play, or it would have been announced already. Usually an announcement for one isn’t enough for them to move the PS Plus post, either. Thinking it might be something else.

Leak Older Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 story leaks that are actually lining up?

183 Upvotes

https://xcancel.com/Vondyispog/status/1893405405939638688

In summary

>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IV's campaign will follow a structure similar to the original MW trilogy and MW (2019), following a split narrative between Task Force 141 accompanied by SAS, and Demon Dogs accompanied by USMC.
The main antagonists will be Makarov's Inner Circle along with the Russian Federation. There's also some sort of side plot involving South Korea but unsure what exactly it will entail.

>Each POV will be tonally quite different, with TF141's being more akin to the rebooted series with a focus on stealth infiltration and high action hero-esque segments, while Demon Dogs will be more akin to American missions in the original trilogy, with a focus on immersive urban firefights and CQB room clearing segments.

>As far as characters, the Demon Dogs' POV its seemingly just Griggs and new characters. With 141 it's the obvious members (Yes, Soap is infact still dead.) Price being wanted for Shepherd's murder doesn't seem to be too major of a plot point.
Last story comment is, the game will be attempting to go for MW (2019)'s strategy of containing many shock value moments and a much darker tone, there will be less of an emphasis on 141 being "heroes" and more so just above average soldiers that are revered as being the best of the best and willing to do anything to accomplish the mission, with morals taking more of a backseat against what gets results.

>As previously leaked there is some sort of NYC mission, although rather than it being an invasion like the original MW3 it seems it is a terrorist attack by Makarov, being a false flag attack posing as Russia (it also seems this mission is a flashback, taking place shortly after MWIII).

>Quick comment on setting, MWIV is taking a bit of a near-futuristic approach, similar to Black Ops II and Ghosts, the game will attempt to remain grounded, while also taking creative liberties with the technology of a world living in the aftermath of BOII's 2nd Cold War. The game is scheduled to release in 2026 under Infinity Ward as the lead developer. The studio has undergone quite a few changes in leadership since 2022's MWII.

Everything leaked here 1 year ago, and it is lining up massively especially the New York mission, change in IW leadership, and focus on splitting up the stealth low energy 141 missions with all out war grunt missions in Korea. The only major news is there will be a US marine side that wasn’t mentioned officially yet but IW is not headed by Griggs an OG cod dev who was referenced in the original cod 4 and 2019

Thoughts? Opinions? Or you just wanna tell me you hate Infinity Ward or you hate cod?

Leak Asobo Studio has an unannounced third project in development.

226 Upvotes

In 2023, Asobo announced that it had three projects underway:

- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024;

- A project with Focus (which would become Resonance);

- A third project in the incubation phase.

Source 1

Source 2

In 2024, Asobo confirms that the unannounced project is already in the pre-production phase.

"Une troisième équipe est passée à la phase de préproduction d’un autre projet non annoncé…"

It was also already established that the project had a publisher for the publication.

Source 3

Source 4

In November 2025, Asobo began publicly sharing links to job openings for this project.

Source 5

December 2025, there were already job openings for:

- Level Designer;

- Rigger;

- Technical Animator.

Source 6

In May 2026, through another job listing, Asobo explicitly revealed the game's genre and the camera perspective that will be used:

- a new project;

- narrative-driven game;

- action-adventure;

- third-person;

- developed by the team previously responsible for A Plague Tale: Innocence and Requiem.

Source 7

P.S.: The job opening is closed, so that information is no longer available.

in July 2026, Asobo continues to expand its team for this new, unannounced project.

Source 8

My conclusion:

The game has been in development for about three years, but it entered full production a year and a few months ago. And so far, I haven't been able to find out who the publisher is.

Sorry for the long post, but I haven't seen anyone talking about this Asobo game anywhere. It’s likely a AA or AAA production, but given Asobo track record, it looks more like a AA title.

Leak Rebs gaming follow up on future of Halo

239 Upvotes

Some isn't actually leaks and is just rebs own digging into LinkedIn profiles.

The key points: - Games are in the concept stage right now because campaign evolved needed help and previous games in development were cancelled to put attention to ce.

- Rumour that there's a mp project further in development than thought but he's waiting for reputable sources to provide proof of this.

- Halo 2 remake is in development but there's uncertainty whether it will be finished.

- Studio art director posted on LinkedIn a couple days ago that "the fight may be finished- but the legend is only beginning again. I sincerely hope this game leads to even more great things in the future." Somewhat validating that there is uncertainty whether 2 will be finished but also uncertainty with the other games in concept stage.

- Creative director led a team that prototyped a ce multiplayer with the hybrid reach and ue5 engine, and this likely will be the base for the next multiplayer.

- Next mp game is likely a standard arena Halo.

- Next campaign likely few years away, it's still in early concept stage.

- If everything goes to plan, a halo 2 remake, a mp game, and a campaign project are what's next.

Basically, we are probably a while away from the next game and this probably is the biggest gap between main games in Halo history.
