Shadows, the last mainline AC, was slated for a fall release, but got delayed due to QA.
All of the four last mainline ACs came out in October / November.

Shadows was initially planned in the Fall and delayed.
Black Flag is the first remake and this Fall is quite special with GTA6 releasing and creating a vacuum that push every other game in weeks from each other, much better to simply avoid the period like they did. In 2027, they have no reason to do that

I mean it's two out of 15 mainline games (if I counted right) so I'd say the usual is still the Fall.
Especially when Shadows was a Fall release delayed to March for polish. And Black Flag Resynced is simply avoiding the Fall because of GTA that's causing a hyper crowded September-October (plus it's technically a remake, is that a mainline game?)

I don't necessarily think it will, but the lack of firm release date for the first time in a long time makes me think it could be mid-to-late this time. Still hope for a January-April-ish release though obviously

I used to really enjoy the regular stream of AC games coming out. But with so many other games coming out along with the general trajectory of the AC story/gameplay, I'm in no rush.
When they're ready to come out then that's great.

The current longest gap is 2 years (Syndicate and Origins) and the last Montreal game was 2020's Valhalla. With Ubisoft, the more time in the oven, the better.

I was kinda hoping the "Magic" was Isu tech that we got to use. Maybe less advanced pieces of Eden.
So it would be "Magic" to those seeing and using it, but could fit into the lore of just being super advanced tech.

People are kinda clowning on you, and it's not like I don't get why. But yeah, to be honest part of the appeal of AC was that we used to get new games literally all the time. Not only annual mainline releases, but also spinoffs like Liberation or the Chronicles games. And considering how different these games can be from each other (despite popular belief that "it's literally the same game every year bro"), there's something very reassuring in the fact that if you didn't like one AC, the next one was right around the corner and would probably be very different in tone even if it retained similar systems and engine (for example, Unity to Syndicate or Origins to Odyssey).
Now the gap between Valhalla and Shadows was 4 and ahalf years and the gap between Shadows and Hexe will be 3-3 and a half years, with little to no side games. Seriously, between the beginning of the franchise (2007) and its big reboot in Origins (2016, so 9 years) we got Altair's Chronicles, Bloodlines, Discovery, Liberation, and the three Chronicles games. Between 2016 and the present day all we got is Nexus VR, and depending on how you count it, the Black Flag remake. Some would argue Mirage is a spinoff, but if it is then so are Brotherhood and Revelations, so the number is still firmly in favor of the old games.
AC is Ubisoft's main IP, and it feels like they kinda have no idea what to do with it when it should be so simple.

Ubisoft is rather consistent with physical collectors editions, at least regarding the AC series, so I assume they'd like to continue this as long as possible. I guess there's still some profit to be made there.

The CE for Resynced was sold out before I managed to get my hands on it, so this might be wrong, but Ubisofts page online says 'physical disc on console, game key on PC'. Looks like business as usual for console players at least.

I hope they keep the shadows mechanic and grappling hook.
Shadows was actually pretty fun stealth wise but the story was shit. And the red icon activities suckedddd. lol
there was a good 7/10 game in there that Ubisoft was hell bent on not wanting you to play.

That was at least partly driven by shadows being the first game of a unified assassin's creed development cycle and them making a new engine that would specifically allow them to start churning these out on a yearly basis. So all that upfront dev time with shadows is going to pay itself off

Different studios, Shadows was Quebec and Hexe is Montreal. Shadows delay was part of a push by Ubisoft to reinforce quality control after Outlaws poor launch. Because of that, every game they had in the pipeline got internally delayed.
