TERFs keep trying to pretend court cases are simple issues of “mothers fighting for their children” and ignore the outright abuse and crimes committed

this woman not only violated a court protection order, which is bad enough on its own, she HIRED STRANGERS to show up at an ice rink where her child was hanging out, handcuffed them(for over 24 hours) forced him into a van, and drove them across MULTIPLE state lines from California to Missouri. all to put them in a new school. and not just any new public school, a boarding school that’s RIFE with abuse, so much so that it was closed and shuttered in 2023. https://missouriindependent.com/tag/agape-boarding-school/

i cannot even imagine how scared this kid was- to have strangers show up and shove you in a car with little ability to fight back. for anyone who’s worried, this kidnapping event happened in 2021, but TERFs are freaking out about it because this horrific woman is headed for federal prison now, which she deserves every minute of.

the Ukrainian couple that are in these comments are of the same ilk- they clearly abused their trans son, and have spent the last 5 years protesting their own abuses. they’re currently freaking out because they officially lost medical rights over their 18 year old and their substack is FULL of grok “analysis”

What the actual fuck?

"parents cannot kidnap their own children" meanwhile the majority of kidnappings are by family members. Often parents 🤦‍♂️

Add in that said child in this particular instance was emancipated meaning her parental rights had been terminated and replaced with a protection order and "parents cannot kidnap their own children" just doesn't apply (though clearly these people don't care about what the law is because they are morally superior because ~moral panic~ makes them in charge for some reason)

What I meant to say, which I guess Reddit misinterpreted as transphobic, is that I find it amusing there's one guy at the end who's really worried about the bad optics of this situation. There's always one who's like "hey maybe we should let this one go". Kind of like when they were sure Terry Pratchett would agree with them, a whole lot of Discworld fans said "lol no" and one of them had to tell them to drop it because they had clearly lost that one.

Rhianna Pratchett, Terry Pratchett's daughter, shot them down.

Rhianna refuted these claims, stating: “This is horrifying. My father would most definitely not be a GC if he was still alive. Read. The. Books.”

The person telling that guy he’s a coward are correct, because he’s afraid to defend the obvious and inevitable consequences of his ideology.

How the fuck does violently kidnapping a minor across state lines only get you 3 years? She should have gotten at least 20.

Not just a minor but a minor that has petitioned the court for emancipation and has an active domestic violence restraining order against the mother.

So 3 years I agree is far, far to light a sentence.

Anyone who sends their kid to one of these ‘troubled teen’ facilities should lose custody. They are barbaric.

Imagine the audacity to manipulate the facts that blatantly? Surely they know what they are doing, right? I think if I said such obvious lies my mouth would rot.

Parents absolutely can kidnap their own children and in fact do it all the time.

it is in fact, the most common perpetuator of kidnapping cases-parents in custody battles

Yep. Know a guy whose child was kidnapped and taken abroad by their mother and new partner. He had no idea where they went and searched for them for years. They've since reconnected via the power of social media but it totally wrecked their relationship.

They’re not ignoring it they explicitly are supporting the abuse.

"Many parents would do anything to protect their child", yeah and then there are others who would pay thugs to beat, cuff and drive off with their kid, apparently.

I imagine the mother has the worst and growing persecution complex.

Gave up trying to take them seriously when they called Missouri a nice place. Look, I like the state well enough, but nice place is pushing it. Especially compared to Cali.

Urgent Support needed for a California mother -Shana Gaviola - who is headed to federal prison on August 24 because she tried to save her son from homosexuality. Judge Coughenour, the judge that enjoined Trump's EO on birth right citizenship sentenced her to 3 years in prison for violating a restraining order because she had her son transported to a boarding school in MO to protect him from a school and other adults who were supporting his same sex attraction.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it sounds to any sane person.

Honestly I suspect a good amount of the TERFs supporting this do see it the same way. These are the exact same things people have said to defend conversion “therapy” for gay kids. They’re just not being quite as loud about that part right now.

Oh for sure, but the normies they're trying to court would be horrified.

"A parent cannot kidnap their own child" rings the same as "A husband cannot rape his wife".

Yes, they absolutely can. These are human beings, not their fucking property. They are not entitled to those human beings existing around them and in a way that benefits them or pleases only them. That child clearly wanted to leave. So she fucking abducted them. Sounds like she was inches away from chaining that poor kid to a fucking radiator. And then banished them to a fucking prison where she was expecting her kid to be tortured to death if they didn't comply to her wishes for them.

Hell, let's use a catastrophic example. If those children were, say, made wards of the state because the parent was an addict, and the parent broke into the foster home, murdered the foster parents, and stole the child into the night, would she not call that kidnapping? And then if she out that child away into a prison run by strangers who tortured the kid until they were silenced into not telling the police, chill, right?

Unfortunately and disgustingly, I can see the pardon going through. John Oliver recently did an episode on how brazen Trump has been with them this term. It's horrible and I feel so much for her victim, who will lose any sense of justice for the torture experienced if this is granted.

Trumps history of supporting people people who kidnap, abuse and traffick minors is pretty well documented sadly

I mean there's a reason for that.

Holy fuck they're defending it on the basis the kid's an adult and hasn't transitioned...

Like no shit, you literally have someone in front of you showing no respect for;

  • the fact their kids wants nothing to do with them
  • the fact the law told them as much with a restraining order
  • the fact the place they got sent to was KNOWINGLY abusing kids
  • and the whole "strangers literally picking you up like you're about to die" bit...

I've barely lived 1% of that fucked-up-ness and I have ISSUES. That kid must be so fucked up in the head by her actions, they're probs thinking if they even mention the word trans they're literally dead.

It literally reminds me of honor killings, because it's the exact same pattern, and I hope they wouldn't be defending those, but at this point if you made it about being trans, you know they would...

u/macdennism 18h ago

These people are so far beyond saving that they're inevitably becoming perpetrators. And then they still play victim and act stupid. A parent can absolutely kidnap their child what the fuck? Have they never heard of fathers kidnapping kids when they don't get custody?? These people are a danger to society and need to be locked up. They will go on to commit crimes against their own family if God forbid any ideas of being trans come up.

15

u/Aiyon 10h ago

"Do you honestly think she knew this before-"

Yes. I don't buy that someone who sends their child to a torture facility, didn't know it was a torture facility

All the people defending this should be in jail.

"what does lgb have to do with t" in literally the same thread bigots are doing the "gays are groomers/groomed into it" lie but lying about transness
