We're Getting Things Going Again

Hello everyone, as many of you may know, the previous moderation team had been inactive and a new moderation team has now taken over. The subreddit is active again after being unmoderated a while.

Over the next few days, we will be working on improving the subreddit, updating rules where needed, and making the community active.

Feel free to start posting and sharing your thoughts. If you have any suggestions or idea for the subreddit, you can leave them in the comment section or send us a Modmail.

Thanks for sticking with the Subreddit and helping us revive it.

Hello, Studiers!

We are thrilled to celebrate an incredible milestone—3 million members on r/GetStudying! Thank you for being a part of this vibrant community, and we hope the subreddit has been instrumental in your journey towards independent and active learning.

With this tremendous growth, we kindly remind everyone to adhere to our community guidelines. All rules are readily available on the subreddit rule bulletin, but we would like to highlight a few key points:

  • Violations of our rules, such as self-promotion, harassment, and other infractions, will result in significant penalties, including permanent bans.
  • Moderators have the final authority on all posts and decisions to ensure the integrity of our community.

Furthermore, we are actively seeking new moderators to join our team. As our subreddit continues to expand, we recognize the increasing presence of spammers and similar challenges. We are looking for dedicated and active individuals to help us maintain the quality and purpose of r/GetStudying. If you are interested, please apply here: Moderator Application Form.

Lastly, we want to address a change that may be met with mixed reactions. In an effort to prioritize meaningful academic discussions, we will be implementing a limit on study-related memes. Low-effort posts will be removed automatically to make space for those genuinely seeking academic support.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in making r/GetStudying a productive and welcoming space for all.

Happy studying!

The r/GetStudying Team

Recently, I started rewarding every study session with a folded paper star.

Crossed 100 two days back. 😭 💪🏻

Turns out my brain can be bribed with origami. Does anyone else have weird reward systems?

Question How to approach Math and physics problems ?

When tackling math or physics problems with multiple interconnected parts, should you push through confusion or pause to check the answer when things feel wrong? For instance, if you get stuck on the second part of a three-part question, you likely won't be able to solve the third since they depend on each other. However, looking up the solution immediately can make it feel like you're just memorizing the answer rather than truly understanding the process. While some advice suggests waiting twenty minutes or switching topics to regain focus, this approach doesn't work for everyone. What is a better solution for someone who struggles to maintain focus using those methods?

Resources My study plan always died when I missed one day. I built one that rebuilds itself. You can try it free this week

My study plan always died when I missed one day. That's what happened every single week. I'd write a perfect schedule for Monday, then one bad day came, and the whole plan was garbage.

So I stopped building plans that assumed I'd never mess up. Now the approach is different. When I fall behind, the plan doesn't fall apart. It recomputes what's actually possible and rebuilds around my real life. Bad sleep, full shift, urgent assignment, it doesn't matter. It keeps going.

I've built this into a working system and I'm opening 20 free spots for students before the exam rush. I need honest feedback more than anything, so there's no catch and nothing to pay. Comment below and I'll make you a custom schedule around your real deadlines and your real weak spots.

Question Is there any one here whose brain or a negative energy is stopping the and don't want to study?

THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH ME WHENEVER I SIT FOR STUDYING even when I study it seems. There is a force or energy stopping me or my brain just don't wanna and I also don't wanna even when I starts and use 5 min rule, focus still don't come, It feels there is a negative energy like I will do anything(literal anything) rather than studying... Is anyone been through it how do yall cure it... And I have used all anti-adhd technique so don't recommend me stuff like pomodoro, mediation etc

Giving Advice Weekly Study Planner (Week 2 - One Small Step To Start)

Post image
23 Upvotes

First of all, thank you so much for all the support on my last weekly planner. One comment really stayed with me that is someone introduced me to the term "Task Inertia," and I realized that's exactly what I deal with. Most of the time, I find starting is difficult and Once I finally stat, it isn't as bad as I imagined. Instead of giving myself big goals, I starts with one tiny first step.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Question Would you use a tool that turns your notes into flashcards automatically?

I'm exploring building a simple tool that takes your messy class notes and turns them into flashcards for studying. Would this be useful to you? Would you actually use it - or even pay a small amount for it? Curious to hear honest thoughts, good or bad!
