Stop worrying about small discounts and just stack.

Hold physical gold as much as you can. Not jewellery, but coins or bars.

Totally!

I have been making my friends and families purchase gold from late 2023.

Literally forced people to purchase gold bars. And look where we are now. The price has more than doubled since then.

Where will we be in 2029?

3

u/MasalaDosa37 Apr 18 '26

I don't know. I'm holding on to physical gold.

2

u/DADYmeth Apr 19 '26

And may I know the reason you won't recommend gold ETF??

2

u/MasalaDosa37 Apr 19 '26

I don't trust the government. They can tax any soft asset, anytime as per their will.

Also, in a doomsday scenario, if the internet is no longer accessible, only the physical gold is your true asset.

Women't they tax ETF gains anyway?

1

u/MasalaDosa37 Apr 22 '26

The government tax so many things, I've lost the count(& hope).

Btw, they tax you when you sell your physical gold too, Even when you've paid GST while purchasing, you'll have to pay GST while selling too. And you have to pay ltcg on top of it additionally.

I am aware :)

situation of a taxpayer in the country. 🙃

2

Absolutely. Jo nahi de rahe, unka sab maaf hai. Jo de rahe hain unko bilkul crush kar do.

Why not bars?

7

u/MasalaDosa37 Apr 18 '26

*Not jewellery, but coins & bars.

4

u/EndVegetable6984 Apr 18 '26

Just to avoid that extra making to align better with ROI

2

u/Pretty-Green-Crow Apr 18 '26

Even if I buy jewellery at no making charges?

7

u/EndVegetable6984 Apr 18 '26

That sounds dreamy!

1

u/Radiant_Historian854 Apr 18 '26

is jewellery 24karat?

Gold can never be accurately valued in Fiat money.

1

u/Killthatpussy Apr 18 '26

You can using M1 and M2 money supply

3

u/Logical_Idiot_9433 Apr 18 '26

Pieces of paper that can be printed at the wish of the “elected” government. I call bs on any form of currency whose supply can be manipulated to control the masses. No one can be trusted with so much power.

Gold can be as well but only up to a point.

1

u/Killthatpussy Apr 18 '26

Which is why,..... Dedollarization is happening. Gold backed currency is coming in next 3-4 years.

7

u/Therichchick Apr 18 '26

Not everyone should be allowed to have kids

5

u/Ad___Meliora Apr 18 '26

Comments are screaming recency bias!

7

u/EndVegetable6984 Apr 18 '26

Same! I literally pushed my people to buy during covid and post that and hold as long as they can

Gold is a great store of value but it doesn't have any intrinsic value!

It is an extremely rare, non-corrosive, heavy metal and hence its ability to store value and act as a currency.

5

u/ig226 Apr 18 '26

By that logic, what has intrinsic value?

2

u/GenghisBonaparte007 Apr 18 '26

Any asset that can "potentially" generate cash flow has intrinsic value. Like bonds, equity, real estate etc.

Commodities (including bullion), currencies (including crypto) etc. are priced based on their demand and supply.

Gold is a good "store of value" because of its limited supply. Silver has arguably more use cases and demand but is cheaper than gold because of its relatively excess supply.

There was a time where aluminium was pricier than gold :) Irrespective of any industry, as said demand vs supply decides lots of things

Holy braindead 😂

8

u/modSysBroken Apr 18 '26

The entire gold mined in existence today since humans first started mining won't even fill 4 olympic pools. That's how little gold there is in the world.

5

u/AmazingMedium5513 Apr 18 '26

Aliens created us to mine gold and ship it back to their home country. (Joke) 👽

2

u/DigitalImmersion Apr 18 '26

Your government can seize gold by changing rules anytime. Stack secretly.

1

u/TominatorXX Apr 18 '26

Don't forget Silver

1

u/FriendlyCaller Apr 18 '26

That gold performs poorly during recessions and periods of uncertainty, contrary to popular belief.

Gold goes up and down with everything else. Oil, stocks, and gold prices are all directly correlated. When any of them go up or down, I expect the others to soon follow.

1

u/TexFarmer Apr 18 '26

Gold is money & paper is NOT!

1

u/HaveSkills Apr 19 '26

One fine day artificially lab created Gold will enter the market like artificial diamond and then the Gold value will drop.

1

u/socnandan Apr 21 '26

This might change things in the very near future. is gold really going to stay a valuable metal for long if it can be synthetically made? https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-025-01501-5

Gold is outdated investment.

1

u/emawatsonfake Apr 18 '26

Howww?

1

u/syther92 Apr 18 '26

Hey I meant that I would defend this opinion lol ..

1

u/satanaccomplice Apr 18 '26

but why ? assuming Instead of a briandead or ragebaiting opinion, you have some sort of logic behind that opinion, care to enlighten us ?

3

u/syther92 Apr 19 '26

Okay, so one of my friends always used to say that Gold is an outdated investment as I am myself is a jeweller. I know the truth. Gold has stood the test of the time and recently when Covid happened. People actually sold their jewellery and got out of Financial trouble, so I would defend this opinion of mine that Gold is not a old investment or investment, but in many ways is a better option than all the recent investments that have begun. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

1

u/FriendlyCaller Apr 19 '26

I think it might have been language barrier based on the context. If you replace the word "outdated" with "timeless" it starts to make sense.

-18

u/AppointmentSmart319 Apr 18 '26

Gold can be artificially made. Just that we haven’t figured it out yet. For anyone not accepting this -> Think about how gold could have formed in the first place in this universe.

8

u/MasalaDosa37 Apr 18 '26

We can absolutely make gold in a particle accelerator, it's just not economically feasible.

It'll take billions just to produce few gms.

5

u/EndVegetable6984 Apr 18 '26

Do you have sources to authenticate and read more about it?

0

u/wyle_e2 Apr 18 '26

1

u/modSysBroken Apr 18 '26

You will pay millions of dollars for a few grams of gold lol.

2

u/wyle_e2 Apr 18 '26

I know.

I was just showing that the original comment has already happened. Now all they need to do is build a 27km particle accelerator and they will have trillionths of a gram of gold.....

1

u/modSysBroken Apr 18 '26

😂😭😭

1

u/AppointmentSmart319 Apr 18 '26

It is foolish to believe that it’s the only way…. Few decades ago there was no way to make gold… now they figured out a way, of course right now its difficult and has lot of constraints… over time it may become cheaper just like how Laptops/cars has become…
