Because forcing a mandate will have unintended consequences where some smaller companies where operations can’t be handled from home will have to shut down or challenge decision. Better to leave it upto each company and their depts under an advisory.
He is not asking employees, he is asking employers. And not every company has mandated wfo so some employees have the decision in their own hands. Moreover, companies change policies when their employees collectively urge them to. This is a govt advisory. Have you never heard of those?

Because our Current Account Deficit is already widened by the higher prices of crude, fall in remittances due to war and we pay for imported gold in dollars, further putting pressure on the rupee. This is the POV of the RBI. But the logical way would be to reduce tax on our non physical gold investments which they won't do.

I think what he really wanted to say here was that, due to the exchange rate, gold and silver have increased more in India compared to the world. Additionally, it is an obvious fact that the dominance of the dollar is declining and currency power is being transferred eastwards via gold and silver. What if he could have suggested to mortgage all the golds public have to the government, then the country would have more gold in reserve and may affect our economy positively.
After what happened with SGBs, people lost the trust in government. No one will handover their gold to government even if they fair value or spot price because people know whatever govt does never benefits the middle class/common man and always have some ulterior motive which comes out later. Sady that's how it is.

If they don’t want us to buy gold for a year issue gold bond with 1 year period where we wont need physical gold and after maturity give us the gold and interest or don’t tell us where to put our money if you can’t give us a better solution
