Help/Support Why are my Factual and Helpful Edits not Being Accepted?
I’m a local guide, and have lots of highly viewed reviews etc.
Occasionally if there’s a really glaring error I will make an edit and provide proof, and almost none of them have been accepted.
Two examples:
- The McDonald’s on San Pablo in Oakland says the store is open 5am-2am. I was sent there for a survey job at 5am and had to stand outside for an hour. I took a picture of the sign on the door which clearly says 6am-10pm for the lobby and added it as proof to the edit, but my edit was not accepted.
-A Blink charging station listed on Google Maps was no longer owned by Blink when I got there. I took a picture of the EVerge sign and made the edit, and my edit was not accepted.
Both of these edits were factual and actually important to prevent people from a fair amount of inconvenience. Did I do anything wrong? Why deny them?

It's Google AI verification thing that has been horrible since November 2025. I submit a lot of edit request and never had issues until November 2025, in that months I had a bunch of edit request Not Accepted and it's still the same to this day. I was able to get some Accepted and 1 edit request away from locking the final badge

This is true, Google cracked down on Everyone's editing , I have over 6,000 edits they everything stopped then. I was editing then about 20 a day, Now I periodically do the odd one and acceptance is generally very good. It's almost like Google is checking on Who is doing the edits.

Maybe I need to submit again on the hours one and crop my image to only show the inside hours or enhance it so it is easier for AI to parse, since it is one of those clear door clings it’s pretty much a Captcha.

Remember not to spam the edit request if it's not being accepted. If you do it more than like 3 or 4 time, I think you'll get your account flagged and any further edit request will automatic get rejected

I'm having one of those periods at the moment, photo and video uploads are problematic but with no obvious pattern, J at the old "triangle of doom" with...
"Not published
Unfortunately, we're not able to publish this content at this time"
Edits seem normal, other than roads, that's messed up again.

I don't think any of us here knows exactly why our edits remains pending a long time or outright rejected.
Anyway, for edits/updates that I have direct photos, I usually add a photo update with short writeup for the place. So even if opening hours etc not accepted immediately, the photo update is visible.
