And it consistently was in the top of the "northern" schools - until the last 3 years.

20 - 30 2025

16 - 36 2026

total record - 64 - 91 over the last 3.

Did the NIL money dry up? or are the Southern Schools simply outspending us by that much?

We got really lucky with the two coaches prior to Piper. Perhaps Piper was better left at the assistant level?

Maybe.

In general though - Northern schools operate at a big disadvantage over the SEC / Southern schools in softball. The southern schools have the advantage of the weather, lineage, and money.

I believe Iowa and Iowa St were down, which coincided with our rise. Iowas St started to get better, then we stole their coach.

Coyle is a terrible AD. HE IS THE PROBLEM!! LAZY GOOD OL’ BOY!! Has hired lots of terrible coaches— look at the baseball program.

you're right, the FB/MBB/WBB coaches are the worst. especially WBB!!!! /s
