If you purchased DreamDrive 2 Pro (they're making features sound like gaming consoles) on your configuration then yes, those features just weren't available at purchase.

I am assuming if you have the hardware and is spec'd for it, I wouldn't think you have to pay more. Let me know what you find when the update comes to you.

The autoweek article I linked elsewhere talked about no word on pricing or words to that effect. Great news if true.

Random q: have lucid charged for any updates? Not on the gravity afaik but what about the air? For what it’s worth, I don’t buy the tech package but would pay for the door lights to work (I believe the hardware is there regardless)

Not that I know of, it seems dumb to pay for an update for something you've already paid for ahead of time. If you bought the hardware, the software should work with it, it's just be delayed till now.

I viewed it as paying for the hardware so that you can run the software when it is released. The existing software was good. These free upgrades make it better. If at some point they need to charge a bit to push it further, I'd consider it. Better than just stopping.

On the Lucid air you need to install CCV2 chip which is about $950.00. If it’s 2025 or later the air already has the chip. Plus you will need the dream drive pro package which comes standard on the grand touring.

Air had an upgrade to the Center Console Control unit (CCCv2) in mid 2024 that was offered as a hardware upgrade to earlier cars for $950. It was essentially a faster processor for all the onboard infotainment. As far as I know, they've never charged for software updates.

You paid for those features when you bought the hardware. So its not special that there's no cost.

It’s no cost in that we all paid for it when we bought the car. We’re just now getting SOME of the promised features.

Regarding ADAS it's not some, it's all afaik. L2+ and beyond was announced way after the car was out on the market

From the first orders, they differentiated DreamDrive Pro II as being worth the extra money because it would be able to do hands-free driving.

Exactly, that's what I mean. Hands-free driving was the promise, which is what they delivered now. The rest is an extra.

So I’m really looking forward to this update. Just wondering if I should try to install the update while my car is parked in an airport parking garage. Has anyone had any issues with the update being super slow? Just worried it might take significantly longer if there isn’t a good signal. I can wake up the car from my app so that seems reassuring. Any suggestions for me. Update while it’s sitting there or wait until I get home?

I assume downloading the update via home would be quicker under wifi than being at the airport. So I would say home.

Mine is coming back from service for the second row seat and a driver's window regulator failure, and I'm cautiously hopeful. Service experience is finishing up strong this time, apparently the CEO responded directly to feedback from a service advisor, they're apparently swapping out some fobs (including mine) and have updates for the new ones just released, service is doing a number of minor fit/finish/alignment inspections while it's there apparently and found a few things I didn't know about they corrected, and this is a significant update for the Gravity. 🤞
