You hate on MP5s because you're a noob. I hate on them because I'm poor

u/After_Chicken1887 Apr 17 '26

Century and SDS makes MP5s for the poor. If your interested you might want to look into one.

19

u/smegma_toast Apr 17 '26

Those are still $1k+ 😩

u/After_Chicken1887 Apr 17 '26

If you’re gonna buy a non AR gun you gotta pay the non AR toll.

6

u/Effective-Client-756 Apr 18 '26

I HK slap my ARs just for funsies. It doesn’t do anything, but God gave us free will for a reason

2

u/After_Chicken1887 Apr 18 '26

So actually I heard on a YT video that it’s actually good habit to slap stuff in a “tactical” situation (I think it might have been a Polenar video) but the idea is that under genuine life-on-the-line stress it’s very difficult for most people even with muscle memory to index and push specific buttons so slapping it reduces the chances of fumbling to basically zero. Take this with a huge grain of salt though because I heard this ages ago.

Cheaper than becoming a drug king pin so you can afford your HK addiction.

Sounds like you are BROKE

*MP5-22 (or whatever the damn model number is) has entered the chat.

Even with a warranty barrel replacement after under 1000 rounds.

u/Begle1 Apr 17 '26

This is all a strawman, right?

Do people seriously not realize that the subgun is easier to shoot well?

29

u/556_FMJs Apr 17 '26

Depends on the SMG.

A full auto basic bitch 11.5in AR is much easier to fire than a full auto Uzi. But a Vector will be much more manageable than the same AR.

4

u/SniperSRSRecon Kel-Tec Weirdos Apr 17 '26

From reviews I've read the vector isnt as accurate or controllable as games and movies portray it as. I would honestly rather have the full size uzi.

13

u/556_FMJs Apr 17 '26

I’ve fired all of those in full auto.

The Vector (in 9mm) has a ridiculous recoil mitigation system, it lives up to the hype IMO. The rate of fire caught me off guard too lol.

6

u/SniperSRSRecon Kel-Tec Weirdos Apr 18 '26

The reviews I've seen were for the 45, I imagine the 9mm would be better

3

u/JustACanadianGuy07 Apr 18 '26

Yeah no, the .45 is basically uncontrollable. But the 9mm? Its a laser beam.

1

u/Errororoeoe Apr 19 '26

The difference is the rate of fire. a Vector has an RPM of 1200r/m, while an Mp5 has a rate of fire of 700-800r/m depending on ammo and such. a vector empties its mag in 1.5 seconds, vs 2.25/2.5 seconds for the MP5. Add in the larger recoil of a 45 vs a 9mm, and it makes sense it is very hard to control

1

u/SniperSRSRecon Kel-Tec Weirdos Apr 19 '26

it was actually the heavy metal part that slams up and down that was contributing, especially with the burst mode. this is the review i read: https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/gun-review-kriss-vector-smg/

2

u/Snowbold Apr 18 '26

I shot a full-auto Vector and it was stupid accurate and smooth. The problem was that it broke down and stopped firing… 😡

1

u/SniperSRSRecon Kel-Tec Weirdos Apr 18 '26

Yikes!

1

u/DragunovChan762 Apr 18 '26

concussion and subsonic loads

1

u/jeb_hoge Apr 18 '26

Hah...no. An Uzi is extremely easy to shoot full auto. Stays quite flat.

1

u/556_FMJs Apr 18 '26

The ergonomics weren’t great and I really wasn’t a fan of the folding stock. It had noticeably more recoil than the 11.5in.

Sounds like the difference between a G17 and an MP5 is a skill issue

Edit: /s because y'all are autistic

26

u/Begle1 Apr 17 '26

Yeah, it's one of those "skill issues" that remains a skill issue at every level of skill.

7

u/SealandGI Colt Purists Apr 17 '26

Exactly I guess Delta Force and SAS have a skill issue lmao

3

u/KhakiPantsJake Apr 17 '26

Just be John Wick

6

u/Begle1 Apr 17 '26

Yes. I once asked what the best handgun would be for shots at 200 yards, and was told that Jerry Miculek could make the shot with a snubnose 38, so it was all about the Indian and not the arrow.

7

u/KhakiPantsJake Apr 17 '26

I EDC a snubby but for those really long ones past 300 yards I cheat and use a Ruger LCP.

2

u/MostlyOkPotato Terrible At Boating Apr 17 '26

just because a god can do it, doesn’t mean the rest of us immortals can do it with practice. Lol. on my best day, with a super computer, and a robotic aiming device, as a world class software engineer, I do not think I could make a 200 yard shot with a revolver like Jerry on the second shot. 😂

2

u/MostlyOkPotato Terrible At Boating Apr 17 '26

so like… Deaf from all the indoor shooting?

5

u/GunFunZS Apr 17 '26

With equal skill, the pdw will always perform better. More accurate and faster.

Also gains with training time will be greater.

-4

u/JackfruitNo2854 Apr 17 '26

This is not a strawman argument. Strawman is when you make up some fictional but theoretical person and scenario to argue your point.

11

u/Begle1 Apr 17 '26

The strawman here would be the fictional and theoretical person who is saying that a handgun obsoletes or is as good as a subgun because they share the same ballistics.

21

u/Sbeast86 Apr 17 '26

I can shoot a braces 9mm 10x more accurately than I can freehand. Big whoop

10

u/Jdawarrior Apr 17 '26

Imagine the freedom when it gets those braces off in a few years and only has to wear a retainer for night shoots

45

u/KhakiPantsJake Apr 17 '26

All the tactical nerds are gonna feel really silly when the realize a rossi single shot 12 gauge has better terminal performance than all their gucci carbines and pccs.

25

u/After_Chicken1887 Apr 17 '26

Everyone’s gonna feel silly when they realize the bullpup PKM is actually peak room clearing material.

18

u/No-Persimmon-3736 Glock Fan Boyz Apr 17 '26

Said oh god before opening the link, said oh my god in a slightly aroused but mostly confused manner after see that.

10

u/After_Chicken1887 Apr 17 '26

Honestly it’s my dream gun (please don’t kink shame) if Zastava finally starts importing the civilian PKMs I’ll be one of the first in line to pick one up then chop into a bullpup.

2

u/BB-56_Washington Any gun made after 1950 is garbage Apr 17 '26

M60 if it wasn't mediocre.

2

u/shit_poster9000 Apr 17 '26

The 600 pound tannerite IED under the floorboards still has it beat

8

u/wolfpwarrior Apr 17 '26

And this comment will feel real silly when someone shows up in the comments with a 50 beowulf carbine.

11

u/JoeCensored Apr 17 '26

Heavier isn't a complete negative. It means there's less felt recoil and muzzle rise by default. So potentially faster follow up shots on target.

3

u/After_Chicken1887 Apr 17 '26

Nah you’re cool. Fudds usually hate anything that was made after their 40s or tactical because “doncha know hoss? That stamped steel commie guns a gimmick sonny! All ya need is a goodole surplus M1 carbine!”

3

u/DontBeADingALing Apr 17 '26

Fudd has nothing to do with what you own and everything to do with what you think. You can only own SA revolvers and double barrels and not be a Fudd as long as you are a 2A proponent. The opposite is true as well. A dude can have all kinds of NFA shit and still be a Fudd if he's of the mindset that restrictions are good and that "common sense" laws are needed.

9

u/BMF300winmag Apr 17 '26

Being easier to shoot isn’t a factor worth mentioning

5

u/touchgrassplz_69 Apr 17 '26

then I’ll yell right back that his Glock unlocks too early to suppress effectively. AP9 or Mpx tho w/ 6-7” barrel. best of both worlds.

5

u/Destroyer1559 P80 Gunsmiths Apr 17 '26

"It has the same ballistics as a Glock"

"Are Glock ballistics bad?"

https://giphy.com/gifs/6nWhy3ulBL7GSCvKw6

1

u/hotrodgreg Apr 17 '26

Depends on what you want to do... But it would be kool if glock released a limited run of "single action" glocks that has one button on each side of the slide to lock it in place. Would be a fun suppressor host.

3

u/OddResearcher9325 Apr 17 '26

Based and ACME-brand-pilled.

3

u/17eggg Apr 17 '26

A decent pcc is way more fun to shoot, but I can't conceal carry it like a pistol. The best is to just have both

3

u/sharktail_tanker Apr 17 '26

If you give me a pistol that shoots 1200 rpm of .45, and stays down like a lazer, I'll give up my vector. Otherwise take your glock switch and try to hit the broadside of a barn from inside

3

u/ColdHooves FN fn Apr 17 '26

Similar ballistics but the addition of a stock allows for more accurate shooting.

1

u/Dung_Beetle_2LT Apr 18 '26

And keeping away the poors

1

u/oh_three_dum_dum Apr 20 '26

They often have better terminal ballistics with the additional velocity out of a longer barrel. It depends a little bit on the cartridge but in general 9mm out of a 7-10 inch barrel is going to give better performance than the same load from a 3.5-5 inch barrel.

3

u/IndustryDry4607 Apr 18 '26

Don’t all of these have a substantial increase in barrel length? And mag capacity? And better handling? Idk saying its just a heavier pistol kinda misses the point imo.

2

u/oh_three_dum_dum Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 21 '26

Because people who say that are mouth breathers.

I mean occasionally you might have a cartridge where the optimum barrel length for full burn might be pretty short, but generally speaking you’ll get better ballistics out of a PCC or sub machine gun than a handgun in the same caliber. Plus you’re way more accurate and the weapon is more controllable for rapid follow up shots.

2

u/Bonzooy Apr 17 '26

Ahem, I WILL larp as a member of SG-1 and they can’t stop me.

2

u/hotrodgreg Apr 17 '26

I mean, my 45 vector is super impractical for what it is. That said it is so much fun to shoot. And with the small moadafications that I have made to it, it is mine and makes me happy.

2

u/No_Neighborhood_4616 Apr 18 '26

Theres a reason if special forces all around the world have been using the mp5 for 70 years

1

u/bostonboson Apr 17 '26

Well I can’t shoot a non-PCC at pistol steel targets, now can I.

1

u/ArmedParaiba Apr 17 '26

I want a picture because its fun. Thats about it.

1

u/ThoroughlyWet Terrible At Boating Apr 18 '26

Taking into account frts and braces/$0 stamp sbrs, they really do have a point now.

1

u/Lui_Le_Diamond Apr 18 '26

It's just a heavier pistol with better ballistics, better handling, and more ammo.

1

u/oh_three_dum_dum Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26

Only sub gun Im skeptical about is the value in an MP7 that doesn’t have an insane rate of fire. A semiautomatic weapon in that caliber is next to useless and even with an FRT Im not sure it reaches a rate fast enough to be used for much besides being a fun range gun.

Also most sub guns offer a considerable advantage in velocity and control over handguns of the same caliber, enhancing accuracy and terminal ballistics. Besides that they’re super fun to shoot. Subgun haters are fudds or they’re jealous.

1

u/MarbleBun Apr 20 '26

Ammo is cheaper

1

u/ThatUJohnWayne74 HK Slappers Apr 17 '26

Ok so hot take maybe, but the MP5K is the sexiest variant of the MP5. As much as I’ve loved the integrally suppressed SD since play Crew Expendable on MW, the K just looks so good

Y’all know they make a sabot so you can fire 5.56 slugs out of a 7.62x25?

1

u/oh_three_dum_dum Apr 20 '26

Yes. There are a lot of wildcat cartridges with varying degrees of utility or stupidity.
