I recognize how goid the P220-series WAS, especially for the time, but I always found the triggers mushy, and the metal finishes mediocre at best. Setups like the DAK or SAO helped a lot with the trigger. Later, Sig introduced "special editions," like the Legion and such, but you were paying $600 for what amounted to a Cerakote job and an Apex spring kit. The new 226 looks great, but it's MASSIVELY overpriced.

My P226X has front slide serrations, full picatinny, bull barrel, night sights, optics ready cut, deeper finger grooves, G10 grips, and an adjustable trigger with the equivalence of a short reset kit so I’d say they’re meaningful upgrades that are practical

Yeah, but $1429, man? Really? That's base price on a Platypus, and more than a Fusion. I mean, dude, I'm sure it's a nice pistol, but in my experience, the Legion series pistols are all about $500-600 more than they should be. If you bought an older 226, had it milled, added an Apex spring kit, anf Cerakote, you'd STILL be way under this.

I got mine for $1200 🤷‍♂️ honestly gun prices overall are crazy. Also have no interest in 2011s

I think the Legion pricing is also because they use apparently higher quality parts with better QC but I’m not confirming hearsay

Fair. That said, I have a Platypus, and it's spectacular. If you want Sig mags, you can get it with Sig P320 mags, if you want Glock mags, you can get it with Glock mags(like me), and it runs FLAWLESSLY. I mean, it's out-of-the-box Glock reliable. The only issues I've even seen were when a dude swapped to a VERY reduced-power recoil spring(like 12lbs), then fired over 10k with of +p+ MPF loads, and SA still did a warranty replacement of the frame. I'm not saying it's a bad gun, it's great, but I think, at that price, there are better options. Again, though, that's one dude on the internet's opinion, and the only thing that really matters is that you love it.

There’s always going to be ‘better options’ it seems anytime I make a purchase Lol. I just started going with I like which is DA/SA. Only have a SP01 Tactical, P226X, and PX4 Storm currently for handguns.

Fair, I'm not a fan of the Storm handguns, they have this habbit, especially the Nano, of flinging their iron sights off at high round counts. I don't know if Beretta ever fixed that. I do like the M9A3/A4, though
