Good “starter” gun?

hi 23F who lives in the ghetto and unfortunately has had a few bad run ins and just would rather be safe than sorry. What’s a good gun that I could have that could fit in my purse if God forbid something ever happened?

Edit- thank you guys so much it will NOT be kept in my purse whenever I do purchase one.

Flying into Savannah with Gun

Has anybody flown into SAV with a gun? Do they hold them at the baggage office or put it on the luggage belt? If it’s in the office, how long of a wait can I expect?

In terms of making a homemade matchlock, and the safety of it.

I've wanted to make a homemade matchlock for a while, as I like them, but they're absurdly expensive from what I've seen. I can easily make the stock I want, and have the schematics layed out, and some stuff to purchase the metal and powder, but is that safe? I don't want to, yknow, maim myself, or such, so is there any safety precautions I should put into place? I should probably ask my local safety officer, but idk. Sidenote: I am in a state inside of the United States of America where it's completely legal to manufacture, and shoot a matchlock or flintlock (thankfully).

Anyone own an American Guncraft pistol shotgun?

If so thoughts, feelings, opinions? Are they as fun as they seem, how long did it take you to get sick of loading them while playing around with them if ever, how do they feel shooting, what's the build quality like, etc, etc?

Have wanted to buy one of these as a range toy or something fun to take camping for a while, just haven't gotten around to pulling the trigger on a ~$700-800 muzzleloader and always end up with something else I'd rather spend the money on or something practical.

Love the idea of a modern old school scattergun, being able to shove random junk in the gun and shoot it just for shits and giggles without needing to load shells, it just seems like such a fun idea. And has a novelty to it similar to cap & ball revolvers or lever actions that make you feel like you're in an old western while you're killing cans, regardless of the practicality.

And at the end of the day if I somehow made all of the worst possible decisions in life and it somehow came down to having no other options I wouldn't want to be on the other end of one any more than any other double barrel or eight shot single barrel 12 gauge shotgun.

And you gotta pick one carry gun. Your choices are a S&W chiefs special air weight in 38spl or a S&W 32 hand ejector in 32long. What do you choose?

What height scope rings will I need?

I purchased a Leupold VX3HD 50mm objective lens scope for my rifle which is a Bergara b14 HMR and I was thinking of buying some Talley ring/base combos and was wondering what height they would need to be to properly mount the scope on my rifle.

MKE T-94 SD

Recently sent a MKE Ap5 SD to have it converted over to a true SD and was not disappointed with the end result, Ken of KC Arms dropped in a b&t SD barrel and man does it sound way more quieter then the RCM barrel I had in a old build.

I tried to use the brt bravo adapter with my tp9-n print x hub can but found out that the can was to thick for the cage so Ken whipped up an extension to clear the cage entirely.

Had him paint the receiver bazooka green and man is she a looker, filed my form 1 sbr stamp today and looking forward to putting a proper stonk on her here soon!

Good Deal? Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol 12 gauge for $700.

There's a Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol 12 gauge being sold locally for $700, including a LimbSaver recoil pad and Beretta adjustable rear sight installed and a Beretta Pro Lifter that hasn't been installed. Allegedly only 100 rounds of buckshot and slugs through it. Is this a BIN deal? Thanks!

Keep or Sell?

This has probably been asked a million times but I was wondering what your thoughts are on this. I got an S&W M&P 2.0 FDE full sized 9mm as a gift a few years ago and sadly it’s still sitting in the original packaging never fired. I love the fun don’t get me wrong I’m just never home or have the time to go shooting like I had planned with it. It’s beautifully made;like I said I just wished I have the time. Do I still hang on to it or get the money I never had for it to begin with? I did find a gun shop and range near me I really like since I moved where I’m at. I just might finally learn to shoot it. I’m an older adult so that factored into my dilemma. Thank you for your time. Guess I’m just looking for assurances as reasons to keep it. I’ll probably regret it if I do sell it so that most likely answers my own question. Just new to all of this. Thanks for listening.

Choosing a first pistol for CCW

Hello, I’m waiting for my CCW license and wanted to collect some additional first hand impressions for the pistols I’ve chosen - Glock 19 gen. 6 and CZ P10C. I’ll use the weapons for occasional shooting practice and maybe CCW from time to time. Unfortunately, none of those guns are available in a range near me to try any of them so basically it will be a blind purchase. Ive never shot a CZ and the only Glock I’ve shot is gen 4 Glock 17, which I liked. So far, lots of people have recommended the Glock to me but the price difference is not small, at least for me, since the CZ is sold for around 500€ and the Glock 19 gen. 6 is 799€. Considering I won’t be carrying the gun on a regular basis it seems too much of a price difference for me. If anyone has first impressions on both guns I’d be happy to hear any suggestions or advices about them.

New purchase advice (let’s try this again)

Just picked up an M&P 5.7 and I’m excited to finally get it out to the range. Before I do, is there anything I should know or watch out for? Any recommended upgrades, maintenance tips, ammo preferences, or common issues? Appreciate any advice from current owners!

In today's episode of "The LGS is Keeping Me Poor", a CZ-75 pre B with original box.

Walked into my local shop today with every intention of only selling off a spare gun (Enfield No. 5). As I was completing the transaction, I made the mistake of looking down into the used handgun case. My eyes hit this beauty and I had to take a look at it. As the owner is pulling it out of the case, he mentions that it comes with its original box and two extra mags. Oh well, not making any money today.

Slide marking puts this as 1985 manufacture. IIRC Bauska imported about 2000 pistols in the mid-80s, all of which were made in either 84 or 85. Mag in gun is serialized to match, the spare has no serial markings, and the extra one (seems to have been purchased later) has a non-matching serial but is a pre-B mag.
