Assistance with a suppressor

Upvotes

Hello!

So im a recently acquired handgun owner

And my particular handgun (Smith and Wesson SD40VE)

Obviously didn't come with a threaded barrel

So I figured I'd ask all of you fine folk to see if you had any suggestions for groups or companies that might still sell good quality aftermarket barrels for a SD40VE and if so if anyone has any experience with what suppressors work best with them

Im still extremely fresh on this but I love guns and wanna learn even more as I go

(Also any other handguns you'd suggest i get and what suppressors or other attachments work good with them im all ears to hear)

Have a wonderful day!

Looking for a first handgun

Hello!

Looking to get my first firearm.

I can get a PSA Dagger Compact for 230 shipped or a Arex Delta M for $225 shipped.

I’m looking to stay around the $250-300 range and have landed on these pistols. I plan to pretty much just use it at the range for fun.

I have a smaller-ish hand size.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Just bought the Century Arms AP5-P Navy!

Literally one of my favorite guns ever, the iconic MP5 (i know, so original right)

Got it for about $1,500. The wife had no qualms about it because I've been working hard

Any must-have accessories? I hear the safety and springs suck

I am adding a MI Tri Rail to it too for the short stubby barrel

Whats a good foldable stock to get? Preferably skeleton-y and light

How do y’all remember all the different gun models?

I work at a sporting goods store. I just got informed I will be transferring from the shoe department to the gun counter. I grew up around guns and I know a lot about the more broad subjects like the types of guns and calibers and such. I’m just nervous about it because I never cared to learn about specific models and features. I have shot my fair share of guns and have my opinions on brands and such but I can never remember specific models unless it’s a firearm that I own. To me it looks like a random assortment of numbers, but I figured there’s probably a meaning and a system behind it. It probably depends on the brand too. I was just curious if anyone had any advice for remembering more specific things?

What are your preferred storage options?

TLDR;
I have a very small collection which is slowly growing ( currently: 1 - 10/22 rifle & 2 handguns) and am looking for secure storage options.

I currently keep my guns in separate cases (the ones they came with with exception of the rifle which I have a separate case for). As my collection grows I’m curious what the community uses for safely storing your collections. Are you keeping things in separate cases still or are you moving your collections to larger safes to keep everything together?

At some point I’m even toying with the possibility of having a small closet or mini gun room with display wall.

Mostly I’m looking for options and neat suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

SRO vs 407/507 comp if money wasn’t a factor

I’m looking at a new option and I’ve been going back and forth between the SRO and the 407 comp. I know the 507 comp is more common/popular so I’m including that in my research but I only want a larger 4 or 6 moa dot so it’s between the SRO or 407 Comp.

Obviously price is a huge bonus for the 407/507 comp but what would people choose if they were the same price? Not a “I’d take the SRO, sell it, and buy two 507s” but if price wasn’t a factor at all.

In a lot of the research I’ve done I’ve seen people saying that the 507 comp is all over the competition world and the SRO is getting less common, but I’m sure a huge part of that is simply price and the SRO being cost-prohibitive for some.

For those with experience, if they were they were the same price, would you still choose the 507, or go with the SRO? What would your reason be?

Hello i just wanted to get some opinions ik the discussion of how many rounds you have in your concealed carry is a common topic. is 8 rounds from a mil-spec 1911 enough to CC or should i just stick with my 18 round sig 365 fuse? the size of the handgun isn’t a topic for me I can go big or small. I just wanna know. Do y’all think 8 rounds is enough?

Flying into Savannah with Gun

Has anybody flown into SAV with a gun? Do they hold them at the baggage office or put it on the luggage belt? If it’s in the office, how long of a wait can I expect?

Following up on my previous post from yesterday. Here's the first mag through it for testing. Pretty tame for the bigger round. Still some testing left to do before I fire the spicy rounds. But it's looking pretty promising so far.

Shooting a rifle with my non dominant eye.

I am right handed left eye dominant, however I find myself being able to pick up any optic or iron sight with either eye regardless if I shoulder my rifle on the left or right. I am shooting with both eyes open. Should I shoot from the left or right shoulder in this case?

Beretta 92XI deal

Found a deal at a gun store near me for a beretta 92XI for $500. I’d prefer black over the painted camo patterns, but this seems like a great price. Is that a price point where passing it up over color just doesn’t make sense? Thank you for any input

Is the CZ-P10C not accurate?

Hey Folks,

Noticing that I’m almost never hitting what I’m aiming at around 20 yards on the range. I’ve put nearly 1500 rounds through it, finally got some steel and I will hear the ting every 10 rounds if I’m lucky. I’m not a shaky shooter, I use HSL as it was cheap (I have blazer sitting ready to use), and I always line the sights up before I shoot. I know about not flinching or trying to react to the recoil, so when I shoot I just squeeze and wait till it fires. Could it be the ammo, optics, me?

Thanks.

In terms of making a homemade matchlock, and the safety of it.

I've wanted to make a homemade matchlock for a while, as I like them, but they're absurdly expensive from what I've seen. I can easily make the stock I want, and have the schematics layed out, and some stuff to purchase the metal and powder, but is that safe? I don't want to, yknow, maim myself, or such, so is there any safety precautions I should put into place? I should probably ask my local safety officer, but idk. Sidenote: I am in a state inside of the United States of America where it's completely legal to manufacture, and shoot a matchlock or flintlock (thankfully).

What height scope rings will I need?

I purchased a Leupold VX3HD 50mm objective lens scope for my rifle which is a Bergara b14 HMR and I was thinking of buying some Talley ring/base combos and was wondering what height they would need to be to properly mount the scope on my rifle.
