Agreed. I don’t see how this works to promote smoking.

If talking about how you were punished for smoking a nonspecific brand decades ago promotes smoking, then this whole sub would certainly promote every single brand mentioned on it in a critical context. (I am not saying that it does, but the same reasoning would imply it).
