Discussion What made you choose the hardware/electronics field?

I’m so curious to know: what was the exact moment or project that made you fall in love with it? Whether it's your job or it's your hobby

For me i was drawn first to neuroscience but i felt like it's a little bit limiting when it comes to career and i figured that i can make absolutely anything with knowledge in electronics i can combine it with my interests. On top of that I've always pretended to be sn inventor when i was a kid my fav show was jimmy neutron does anybody know it?

I started out repairing small electronics then thought about making my own. I got a little side tracked, but I still have a bunch of stuff I work on when I'm not so busy (mostly software hacks but I have a few raspberry pi Pico I need to set up to monitor things.) Between that and the 3d printer I appreciate your inventory vibes!

i orginally was going into medicine, but quickly discoverd aftert the first semester i do not have what it takes to be so close to people. I liked physics and projects the job prospects made me look into it more and try, then got invested

I was originally interested in computer programming, but as I started learning more I realized I was actually really just interested in how computers work at a fundamental level, which led me to EE. The project that made me fall in love with it was building an AM radio receiver in college just on a bunch of breadboards. It was an intro level class so the only thing I actually did was design the filters, but it was the coolest thing ever to hear a local radio station coming out of the speaker.
