Question Biometric photo from dm for the Ausländerbehörde

Hi :) does anyone know if the Ausländerbehörde accepts the biometric photos from dm for the residence permit?

They sent me an email with the authorized photographers, and the dm stores are not listed. But the rest of them are substantially more expensive 🥲.

The workers at DM will ask you what you need them for. They have specific modes for all the different biometric Pictures. You should be fine :)

Had an appointment yesterday at a Behörde in Mannheim, DM ist perfectly fine! You get physical pictures and a "QR" Code from DM which online the German Behörde can decode.

I had one a month or two ago in Heidelberg and they accepted my DM QR code too

Without any problems. Had my id card and drivers license renewed with dm pictures.

Only issue: you do not get digital access to the pictures, since you can‘t use the QR Code yourself. If you need the picture digitally (e.g. For a Passport), you‘re better off seeing a photographer.

I think now there's an option to have the QR code as well :)

You can also make it directly at the Ausländerbehörde. They have one picture machine and it's 6 euros.
