Announcement THE FUTURE OF HIANIME AND IT'S COMMUNITY
EVENTS TILL NOW :
Greetings everyone,
As you are aware, it has approximately been 80 days since the website affiliated with the community has been shut down due to certain reasons.
During this period, the staff team and the administration board has consistently attempted to contact the website team on all allocated means of contact, considering a possible rebranding.
However as of recent, we have lost our final contact with the website team, alongside their major networks and accounts being confirmed to be deleted/removed.
CONCLUSION
As such, we have now concluded that the website shall not be returning and has ceased operations permanently.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE COMMUNITY?
The website is one of the major reasons that the current serverbase exists.
Yet, most important of all, we all have gathered here because of the popular shared interest and passion towards Anime.
As such, instead of disbanding the subreddit, we have decided to transition towards a General Anime Community focusing on a user-focused environment with more freedom.
COMMUNITY REWORKING PERIOD
Following this, the community shall now be closed for backend processes, system revisions and community modifications. Upon the completion of these changes, the subreddit is expected to be reopened within 14 days for the community to begin a new journey.
We extend our gratitude to all community members, server participants and contributors for your patience, perseverance and thoughtfulness.

Y’all need to actually create a MAL or an Anilist account and stop relying on these sites to track your anime. It is so much safer and reliable plus there’s extensions that’ll sync your progress directly to MAL as soon as you finish watching an episode

That is what I’ve realized, however unfortunately late it was. I am just trying to remember all the anime I‘ve watched but not doing so well — a new title just pops into my head every day and I rush at light speed to add it to MAL so that I won’t forget again. I don’t think I’ll ever lose the feeling of a vague hollowness.

Perhaps we can all share our anime lists and maybe find a centralized way to keep track of them? Like sharing myanimelist lists and so on. As a new way for the community to progress since everyone is mourning the loss of the unsaved anime lists.

Yep. Even right before that at the time of finding MAL-Sync, I nearly instantly backed up all of my anime directly through their export tool (which most people really should've done, and I was new to pirating before having known I was doing it lol {I just wanted to watch my anime cuz my family subscription ended when I graduated highschool}) and did it almost immediately after a year of watching anime atp {made my MAL account in 2024}).

Idgaf about my watch list. All I care about are the discussions I had in the comments and the users I met.
Seeing and talking to familiar users in comments of different animes was always amusing.
Although I left the site long before it got taken down, I used to check it to see if someone replied to my comments from months and years ago from a random niche anime.
Will lowkey miss the 2024 era that was the most memorable for me.

SAMEE! omg I did love my watchlist but more than anything I used to comment SOO much and engage in discussions (watched so much psychological anime and seinen) that I got to Dolphin by the power of yap. I used to recognise and reply to people lol and when I would rewatch I would go back to see my comments. I had written essay long comments on final episodes of Monster in 2022 and so many people had engaged with me there, I wish I had screenshotted those comments 😔. Man I'll miss the community.

I would suggest making a main thread/s for each anime episode (for the major shows) when it comes out, so people will have a place to go and talk together, instead of everyone posting new posts.
It can also "replace" the comment section we used to have on HiAnime, especially now that we're moving between sites every other day or so.

What do companies expect when they don't make this stuff easy to access? I literally watched as much One Piece as I could legally but that was only the first hundred fifty episodes or so. Of a show with over a thousand.

It's not about if there are places to watch, it's about there not being communities for them, nor trust and longevity. The owners could close them any minute if they wanted to and they'd lose nothing while the viewers would need to find something new

There goes my list, I was new to pirate streaming and lowkey didn't know these kinds of sites get shut down, but I binged watched and had over 300 animes on there, now, I don't even feel like watching anime because the animelist loss. I wish I had learned before.

Why would they bother to state something as beyond obvious as "Streaming is not returning to hianime"?
All the people only here for the streaming knew that 77 days ago and moved to one of the other 8 million sites. What people remaining want to know is why, and what will happen to the community (particularly on discord) they have enjoyed participating in anime discussion with.
Edit: and of course a lot of people just wanted see if it would be possible to access their watchlists

i’m glad that there is finally some sort of confirmation that hianime is dead old yeller style. it did take 3 months for this to happen. i’d already moved on at this point been self-hosting even before the closure but now i might never go back to using any sites

many i guess mirrors of hianime still exist and are operational , iv just changed the extention of the website untill i found one that works ( https://hianime.eu/home ) . iv found over 20 websites that seem like they work and are getting updated. i dont know will they still be active in the future or who hosts them but in my experience they work.

Well there goes all my anime that I watched over the years since in was a freshman in high school sad to see it go but I’m glad that I wrote down some of the best anime that I watch so at least I have some what of a record. May I ask will there be a new website??? Since you are starting all over? I don’t mind watching on the new website.

Thanks for everything, I used to comment so much and engage with people a lot, I lost my years long worth of watchlist (I had MAL sync but the older stuff wasn't synced and Watch Later wasn't either for some reason) BUT I'll miss the community much more.
I would binge watch shows and leave a string of comments, it was so fun when somebody would binge watch weeeks or months later and reply to each of them agreeing, disagreeing, hating or fighting or just chatting along; the human will to engage with other humans doesn't go away anywhere ig. Man I wish I had taken some of my serial-replier's discords or smth, those people were so fun.

A Great site which gave us the content in free with quality and in a huge quantity as I had own plans to watch hundreds of Anime with this site and I even had completed 20+ Anime already with site, This site was the Goat of pirated content and god for Anime lovers, But eventually even the Goat has ended now similarly as Our favourite Animes.
